This was a wonderful tribute to the king of instruments.Any piano lover would value this celebratiion and cherish it. Wonderful clasical,jazz,contempory all done in a great presentation.

Utilizing the anniversary of the invention of the Grand Piano, this production centers this now ubiquitous instrument in a variety of various musical genres as played by the musicians most associated with such works. A unique "nightclub" setting appears to surround the musical set with the well appointed audience. The intimate setting lends itself well to celebrating any event and this musical evening is enjoyed by all in attendance. Depending on your musical taste some elements, while "not your style" are still presented in a manner to remain interesting to the viewer, and all musical segments are limited in length. Like the weather, if it is not your style, just wait a few minutes and the artist will change. Entertaining and educational as you celebrate the now famous 88 keys that make up the Grand Piano!

I agree with all the positive reviews here that this is an interesting, high quality DVD with very good contents. I do want to add one comment about the video format, this disc is in letter box format, NOT anamorphic widescreen. So it does not take full advantage of today's widescreen TVs. If you are looking for full resolution video, you might be a bit disappointed.

Short review because I have nothing but the best things to say about this package. If you are a true piano jazz fan like myself, this is a must own dvd. Buy it.. you WILL NOT be disappointed!

I rented this from Netflix and was totally blown away. A great DVD with wonderful performances, playing, and well shot too. It's really a crossover DVD in that jaz, classical and rock are all represented. When I went to purchase it I found out it is out of print and being sold used for $150. Outrageous! If you really want to have a copy of this, rent it from Netflix and rip it yourself. Skip the used rip-off. Got $150 to spend on this used, good for you.

The music is great, but the only place I can play it is in my computer. It doesn't work in my car. :(
