Western Digital 10TB WD Black Performance Internal Hard Drive HDD - 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 256 MB Cache, 3.5" - WD101FZBX

This drive has been great. I used a guide on the internet and this drive replaced the 2TB drive in an older Apple Time Capsule router. so I could continue automatic and easy backups with my computers getting ever-larger. With a couple laptops and a desktop I find the built-in Apple solution on their own router the easiest for backing up and it's been working wonders. I have 5x the space and better speed of backups. I also put a couple of folders on there for storage of files that I don't often access or want all the computers in the house to have access to. I'm a year in and the drive is responsive, seeks quickly, and data transfer is speedy when connected directly to the router and over the wifi network. I notice the noise but only when the drive initially kicks on and starts the backup process or accessing files after it's been idled. Sometimes during the backup it'll make a few misc. electronic working noises. This is nothing like the days of yore though and for a 10TB, 7200rpm drive I find it acceptable. This is a great solution to needing more space from the older equipment. WD has always been reputable and I'm glad I spent a little extra on this drive. If I ever go to a NAS or other directly connected storage devices I'd considering a couple of these for their performance. Hoping for longevity.

I bought it from Egypt, took like 20 day to come, perfect condition, works fine, read 7 write speed ~ 250mb/s. It takes few seconds to initialize. I red it has a noise but the only noise I hear is while it initialize only, after that I hear nothing like a normal HDisk. But overall perfect for storing & using data.

30 months later this drive is going strong and trouble-free. I love WD they stand behind their product and so far I haven't had to report any bad news to them since 2003 and back then it was a trouble-free return and painless. I purchase about 20 hard drives per year and have never had any of them go bad or had any problems at all. They are the only company I purchase from and I highly recommend them. In 40 years of using WD, I have had only one drive that went bad but that was then this is now and going great.

I onky get 225MB/S sequential read after loading about 3tb of data on it. I didnt benchmark before copying data over. Still, it 10tb and pretty fast and i onky paid 175 bucks on a sale. It makes a whir sounds when its spinning, kind of like a case fan. I can hear it pretty easily, but its worth. It doesnt make loud seaking noises or anything weird.

I've purchased 4 of these HDD recently and every one of them is Superb quality!, they are fast, efficient and above all reliable. slightly noisy, but not a so noisy that you cant concentrate on your computer work. a highly recommended Purchase!

This is used as a storage drive. They last! They work!

Great performance. Good temperature. Quiet. No constant head parking. I transferred 5TB from my WD Black 6TB that I upgraded. Took about 5 hours. Both drives stayed cool. Barely audible in my pc.
