We bought this for our very energetic 5 year old daughter (who is about 46 inches and 40 lbs). It is very sturdy and she bounces on it all through the house (driving us a bit crazy). Things get worse when her 12 year old sister decides to bounce around the house -- it fully supports her (5 ft and 100 lbs) but her larger size makes it really noisy on our wood floors over a basement. That said, not only the 5 year old loves it, the 12 year old loves it and I should have bought her one as well. When it is finally warm enough, I think the girls will have a great time outside. I have friends that purchased ipads and similar items for their kids and looked at this ball and say "why didn't I think of that." (Of course, begging the question of why anyone would buy an Ipad for a 5 year old but that is a different issue). This ball is worth the money. My older daughter had one of these balls when she was much younger and it was imprinted with Dora or something like that. It was flimsy and didn't make it more than a few months. This ball will last!

Skip the other bouncers - this is the one you want. Thickness is just like the classic ones you remember. It's a bit big for my 6 yo, but not unusable, and it'll last.

Excellent size for my small 6 year old daughter. She has really enjoyed bouncing around the garden.

It's a very tough kind of flexible plastic, and touts "no latex!" on the package. I hang these things from my clothesline by a rope and use them as dog toys, and thus far, my dog has not been able to destroy this one. The handle, however, seems fragile. The narrow bridge that connects the top of the handle has developed several deep splits, and I have had to reinforce it with a small length of plastic pipe taped to the inside. That seems to have done the trick, and I acknowledge that my hanging it from a rope might be placing undue wear and tear on that particular part. An issue I've had with similar products in the past; dog gets a lucky bounce, plug pops out, ball deflates, and suddenly there's some loose material for teeth to grab onto and it's all over. This plug seems quite secure and has not yet popped out.

Could not use it, it was too large for my grandson, who is 4 years old. The discription did not indicate an age, and could not return it without incuring shipping cost. So kept it till my grandson grows and ordered the 18" for him
