It has a nice face with digital date. The thing I like the most about it, it has a ten year battery. Great deal for the price.

This is a beautiful watch. I love the way it looks and its functions! Years ago I bought an analog/digital that looks and works almost exactly like this one. It was a fossil. It was square it had a blue face, and it had a semi circular digital region on the bottom. I couldn’t help but wonder if it didn’t in someway inspire this watch. This watch fit my wrist right out of the box so I didn’t have to go through any adjustments with the band and it looks great on my wrist. The only reason I didn’t give this watch five stars is the light is completely useless. It lights up the sides of the dial and the cardinal numbers twelve, three, six, nine, but it doesn’t tell you the time at night. I have a collection of watches and I tend to wear a watch for a couple days and then I’ll switch to another however, I haven’t taken this one off since I got it almost 3 weeks ago!

This is a great looking and functioning watch from Casio. A world time function, plus a timer and memo capability make this a helpful wrist friend. The blue dial, along with the font for the numbers, really help this watch look and feel like like something from the early 2000's, when music videos were over saturated and we all carried Motorola Razr's and LG Chocolate's. It's a fun, functional piece of nostalgia that works and frankly, will outlast an Apple Watch in it's functions as a watch. Some things to know, though. The body is plastic, the bracelet is stainless steel. This means the watch is light weight and pleasant to wear, but it is in no way a G-Shock. It doesn't offer the same rugged reliability and water resistance, so do not buy this watch and expect that you can go diving or hiking and bash this thing around and have it survive. It might, for a while, but it'll look abused quickly. The "crystal" is also plastic. It will scratch and scuff quickly if you're careless. So if keeping something looking new is a priority for you, this little watch will take some extra care to do so. The four pushers feel positive and not cheap. It's interesting to me how Casio can make so many watches out of plastic materials and still feel better made than some several hundred dollar fashion watches. There is a backlight, and it works. Two amber LED's offer illumination from the three and nine positions. It does not, however, illuminate the digital display. In a way I wish Casio would update this watch and give it better backlighting like they did with other models, and in other ways I want them to leave it be. A piece of that early 2000's charm, as it were. The bracelet is easy to adjust with proper tools (or improper. A well made #5 mechanical pencil, tweezers, and pliers can do the job). A solid fit can be achieved in a matter of minutes. Who is this watch good for? Folks who need an every day watch that doesn't break the bank, has quartz accuracy and reliability, and need either multiple timers or a world time feature. College kids, young professionals, people with lives and jobs that don't take too much toll on their stuff. People who like to have a few affordable watches they can change out with outfits. Who is this watch NOT for? Military personnel, people with rugged jobs. Runners (the bracelet CAN pull hair occasionally), cyclists, hikers, lumberjacks. People who need a timepiece to survive the worst, you should look elsewhere. This watch won't survive your lifestyle.

Very attractive and even though I had to use up all the band adjustment, the watch is always in a readable position even though it's still a bit loose. I think the size and shape keep it in a decent position. I also have the AW-80 which has a rubber band I detested. That the beauty of these inexpensive watches, you can change without a financial burden.

I have worn Casio watches for decades. I've also worn Timex and other brands too. My previous watch was the Casio 10 year battery 708 MTP-3036A-2AV with the Cobalt Blue face. A quite nice heavy duty analog watch that had a full thick stainless steel case. Amazon still carried them up until earlier this year and now only carries the black faced watch by the model number MTP-3036A-1AV. I loved the old watch and it took a beating in my work but never a hiccup until the ten year battery died right at ten years. The watch was so worn I decided to look for another. The old one with a strong thick steel case at $25.00 was well worth the money. The only drawback to that watch was that it had no illumination for night viewing. Alas, it went away from Amazon even though it can still be found at other places and I may indeed go get one just because I liked it so much. But I needed a watch and liked the look of this one with a similar colored face. I won't go into great detail of the features since so many others have. I do find them fairly easy to set up and work, though that's not why I bought the watch. The greatest drawbacks to this watch is that it is made very flimsy. I guess ten years makes a lot of difference in quality. The "crystal" scratches easily so I had to take one of the clear cell phone screen protectors, cut it down and apply it to the face of the watch or it would have gotten destroyed in short order. It says the case is stainless steel. But I don't see it. The top section of the watch is a very thin pot-metal, maybe aluminum. But the worse part of the design is that the bottom side of the watch is plastic. Thin, light plastic. Ugh! That really is a let down and just won't make it for me as a work watch. So I will be buying another one of the old watches from somewhere else while it's still available and at the same time keep this watch for non-work wearing. I do like the night lights though they are not very bright like the Timex Indiglo are. One more thing. The watch ships with a huge wrist band, also made much lighter and more flimsy than the old one was. I have fairly large wrists and it was way too big for me. There are no instructions with the watch on how to reduce the size and they've changed the design on it from the old watch. But there are several good YouTube videos showing exactly how to take out links. Unfortunately, the process is simplistic but definitely not simply. It took me an hour to remove a link from both sides with needle-nose pliers and a jewelers screwdriver set. It was NOT easy. And it still was too big on my wrist. Since the clasp also has four settings to loosen or tighten the band, I set that to the tightest and it fits pretty good now though still a bit loose. Bottom line: The Casio AW81D-2AV is a very light weight, attractive watch with numerous handy features at a great price if you intend on wearing it out to dinner, church, a movie, even to the office. This watch will not hold up to a harsh work environment so be aware that it is very light weight.
