Pleasantly surprised!
I already have a smart home set up, and use a Samsung SmartThings hub to control Zigbee & Z-Wave devices. I'm also a stubborn so and so, and I insist on having everything working via HomeKit and Siri, so I run HomeBridge too (Actually using Hoobs now as I prefer the interface). I have 99% of my kit working just how I want. The only issue I have with my current set up is that the front door DanaLock V3 keeps disconnecting from the Z-Wave network on my SmartThings V2 hub and stops responding. I've tried the DanLock Bridge, it's not reliable from outside the house and has no WiFi integration to HomeKit - a big flaw. All my research said that SmartThings can only handle one hub at a location, but as I said, stubborn so and so, so I decided to give the Aeotec hub a try. I figured at least the newer hardware may have a better Z-Wave transceiver. The Aeotec connected to my SmartThings app very easily. Used the QR code on the device and the app adopted the hub and allowed me to configure for WiFi. To check I logged into my online SmartThings account and both hubs were showing connected at my Home location. So I unpaired the DanaLock from the SmartThings hub (ignore any online instructions, just hit remove in the app and press the reset button on the lock - no need to go into Z-Wave utilities). Then re-added the lock, this time picking the Aeotec hub (which I've located right by the side of the lock). The device showed up fine, strait away - SmartThings definitely can handle 2 hubs at the one location. Even better, I went into the Automations section of the app and the Homebridge settings, added the new entry for the lock to the devices list, and there is was, back available in HomeKit. Overall it took about 15 minutes to migrate the lock to the new hub and have everything working how I wanted. It remains to be seen if the lock stays connected to this hub, but if it doesn't I'm pretty sure that's more of an issue with the lock (rebooting it reconnects it to Z-Wave, but that needs me to open it and pop the batteries).

Great value for money
Was not happy with Alexa routines, didn't want to devote the time for Home Assistant and at a fraction of the cost of Homey plumped for Aeotec Smart things hub. Incredibly easy to set up, instructions were one of those rare set where the process matched the theory. Initially kept losing connection, but fixed that by taking it off WiFi mode and attaching it directly to router via ethernet. App layout is good and functions as I hoped. More basic routines than say Homey, but for the price and feature set it is fantastic. Edge Drivers are needed for some devices eg Aqara to unlock their full feature set, but with a bit of AI back and forth easy to work out and install. Like the fact that lots of routines are all local.

It does update and it is a thread border router
I bought this to replace my V2 hub which is getting on a bit now. I've seen a few reviews saying the hubs were old stock and as a result won't update and don't support Thread. Well, I'm pleased to report that 2 out of 3 are incorrect. The hub that I received was indeed made in 2022 which is a bit disappointing but I guess they don't sell many. Still I thought I'd give it a try. I plugged it in, connected it to the the SmartThings app and the first thing it did was an update. Once that was complete I added a Thread plug (this one to be exact; https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CHRDZCGP). Scanned the QR code on the plug, plugged it in and 10 seconds later it was there, on the new hub ready to rock and roll. Lets hope the SmartThings Replace Hub feature works just as well...

Elevating Home Automation with the Aeotec Smart Home Hub
The Aeotec Smart Home Hub has taken my home automation to another level. This device has allowed me to consolidate all my smart home devices into one app, accessible across Apple, Android, and even Windows PCs. The convenience and ease of use this provides is unparalleled. One of the standout features for me is the ability to connect SmartThings with my car. This innovative feature allows me to control my home automation, such as opening or closing the garage or checking on my home, all while driving. Previously, I had to keep my lights on the Philips Hue bridge and other devices on their respective Zigbee bridges. However, the Aeotec Smart Home Hub has allowed me to bring them all into one place, simplifying my setup and making device management a breeze. The hub works great with a variety of devices including my Ikea smart blinds and sensors, as well as Sonoff equipment. The compatibility and seamless integration with these devices have been impressive. In conclusion, the Aeotec Smart Home Hub is a highly recommended product for anyone looking to elevate their home automation experience. It’s user-friendly, versatile, and truly enhances the convenience of managing smart home devices.

Be careful - this, I believe, is being falsely advertised as a Matter hub!
In the series of pictures under the product on this Amazon site, one of them looks like this pic (above or below), with the official MATTER logo on the right showing what it's compatible with. That designates it as an official Matter hub, but is does NOT work with Matter and cannot be setup as a Matter hub in the Samsung SmartThings app; only as a regular SmartThings hub. And they're two very different things. To me, that's deceitful advertising, but you can decide for yourself. The product DOES NOT come with a Matter QR setup code or the 11-digit code, and the product appears to have been manufactured in 1/2022 which, considering that Version 1.0 of the Matter specification was published on 4 October 2022, suggests to me that this is just convenient labelling for sales. Be careful!

When I first bought this product, I had no idea that I bought the master key for all the locked doors and the problems which were holding me back from accessing the smart artificial intelligence world!! If you learn how to use it correctly " anyone can do it, that is how easy is it" This small device is the gateway to a huge wonderful world and then you realize that Samsung Smartthings - aeotec - hub is the beating heart of your home if you don't believe in magic, you got to have it and try it, you will see your future self doing amazing stuff without realizing how did you get there. There are no words I can say that can describe what this device can do, and stay away from apple homepod or google nest hub because this one rules them all. It has all the smart protocols you can think of. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee both( Zha & Zigbee 2 MQTT), Z Wave, Z wave Pluse, Thread border route and is the first device to get an upgrade to a new protocol through an Update and be the first hub to join the New Home Alliance protocol which is called "Matter". One of the things that makes this device unique is the fact of any update or new features get announced, it gets activated worldwide unlike Alexa, Google, or Apple, the best features are only accessible if you live in the US, sometimes the UK, that's it, so you can see people do amazing stuff with the same device you bought, but you can't do anything about it, and it very frustrating. Unlike Aeotec hub it does not recognize any boundaries. Stars are your reach.
