Perfect Model for a Physical Therapy Clinic
I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the model. Large enough to see important structures. Size and dimensions are exactly as described. The Labyrinth fits perfectly inside the model. Anatomically correct. Fits our display shelf perfectly.

Great model of inner ear
Accurate model of the inner ear and it's anatomy. Highly recommended for learning. Has removable part to show the inside of the inner ear.

Great for patient education
Was larger than anticipated, which is great. For patient education, being able to see this structure in 3D is much more beneficial than a picture.

Very useful for such tiny structures, needs a couple improvements
First off, this is an extremely useful model to have when studying the inner ear. My A&P class goes through the basics of these structures, but we do not go into the details of the cochlea so this is all we need. I really like that the vestibular nerve goes all the way to the vestibule, which my other models do not for some reason. In general, it will be great for what I need. There are a couple things I would like to see improved (and maybe I would buy a second) - first, the round window is basically non-existent (see pictures). The key to the model lists "fenestra of the cochlea" or the round window as 10, and 10 is definitely not where the round window is (see images). Second, the part of the cochlea that comes off is definitely not going to stay on for long. Given the angle of the cochlea, which faces downward a bit, the cochlea cover comes out of the holes when I put it back (see video). I imagine I'll just end up taping it at some point, but that's a bummer. Perhaps the attachment mechanism could be improved. Third, the malleus is often portrayed with anterior process, and this model does not have that (see picture). Not a deal breaker, but can be confusing. Lastly, I wish it were a solid unit. The two parts swivel too easily because they don't make contact well, so it basically moves every time someone touches the model. EDIT - one week after use and the cochlea cover is already taped on.

Unit is a nice model, however, it arrived somewhat defective
The unit is amazingly useful, its potential for visual teaching is excellent. The unit is labeled with various numbers and Greek letters on various parts but there was no list of what they referred to in the box . Nonetheless, I was able to find various charts and graphics online that permitted me to make my own key to the numbers and letters. On the larger section containing the cochlea, it has a hole in it that is supposed to allow it to sit on top of a thin pole. But the hole in the unit was misshapen, still filled with the molded material, and was not deep enough to allow the pole to go all the way in. Consequently that part was about 1/2" too high resting on the pole and the two parts did not join up as intended. Fortunately, I was able to carefully drill out the hole to remove both the extra debris and to make the hole sufficiently deep so that it now fits properly on its pole. I plan to use this when I am teaching Sound Engineering and explaining how the human ear converts acoustic energy into the experience of sound.

Strange, but useful.
Ordered this for my son In school. Clearly shows all the important parts. It’s sturdy and I can recommend it!

Nice Size ... But Worried About Durability
Several parts detach to provide an interior view; however, they are reassembled by placing tiny fragile little plastic protuberances into very small holes. I have a feeling these plastic parts will break very quickly. Also, I received the white plastic "base plate," but there was no metal rod or hardware to attach the model to the stand (as shown in the picture).
