God of All Things: Rediscovering the Sacred in an Everyday World Review: HIGHLY RECOMMEND - I have read so many of Andrew Wilson's book as well as watched his talks/sermons online. Highly recommend this book. It has opened my eyes to God's world and made me look at objects is a much different light. Review: “We worship a God of things.” - “We worship a God of things. The cosmos is filled with them: everyday, mundane, quotidian, humdrum, ordinary things. Sometimes they delight, sometimes they exasperate, and sometimes they escape detection altogether, but whether quietly or loudly, they insistently point beyond themselves to the God who made physical stuff. Everything in creation tells us something about our Creator.” (Kindle version page 200) Wow! I read this book in less than a day and a half and plan to go back through and transfer some of my favorite quotes some place to keep. It is a journey through 30 mundane things (including pigs, stones, sex, honey, water, flowers, wind, and cities) filled with scripture references, exegesis, and some application. It would make a great devotional (even for family - maybe skipping the sex chapter depending on your child(ren)‘s ages). I thoroughly enjoyed this - it was a quick read filled with lots to chew on and mull over as I go about everyday life - knowing that all the things around me point to our Father and King. “One of my dreams in writing this book has been that you, driving to work or breastfeeding a child or taking a lunch break, might look around you and see reasons to worship that you hadn’t noticed before.” (Kindle version page 201)

Nicely done
I thoroughly enjoyed this journey through an unassuming hodgepodge of items as a means to make me think more deeply of my God. Thank you for your insight, your time, and the "hidden" challenge to continue the journey.

A powerful exploration of metaphor in the Bible.
A powerful exploration of metaphor in the Bible. Wilson shows us how the earthiness of creation and its powerful use in metaphor in scripture reveals the glory, beauty, steadfast love and faithfulness of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit one God now and forever. I highly recommend this book. It reads fast with prose that is easily understood.

Read and see how God has wonderfully created all things for His glory
I love this book. After reading some Jordan and Wilson books that take a more Biblical Theological approach to various topics, I happen to discover this book on some of the basic material things of life and its been very eye opening. Wilson helps to demonstrate why things like bread, wine, honey, stars, trees, and many more things that God created are significant and have a profound way of pointing us to God Himself. This book makes you think about creation much more deeply and shows you that God is concerned with so much more than do’s and don’ts. The very minor details in the universe point us to God every day and in our modern enlightened minds, we miss them because we’re so much “smarter” and more intelligent.

ILLUMINATING
Illuminating and interesting. Read alongside your Bible. Take notes and use a highlighter. Very clear and not hard to follow. Well written and worth reading.

Through short chapters that sweep through the unified narrative of the whole counsel of God, Wilson shows us how both the mundane and magnificent was created to reveal the creator. Each chapter is short enough to make an excellent devotional, but equally rich enough to stir your affections for Christ and make you want to worship afresh the God of All Things!

Great little book with short chapters on a godly perspective of ordinary things. We have used it effectively in our local Bible study group.

This little volume is interesting, thought-provoking and Biblically faithful. For preachers there is enough material here for many sermons. For the rest of us there is enough enriching insight into the Bible’s themes to warm the heart and illuminate the mind.
