Powerful product
I never knew I could have such control over the WiFi... Such a powerful tool for gamers... You can set the amount of Wifi each product you have controls and if gaming online you can set your location on the geo filter and have people in your country to play with instead of the game lagging in other country pings.... Installation is very easy but using the product for gaming needs a little know-how on the product.. loads of videos on youtube you can watch.. IF PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT PLEASE HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF HOW NETWORKING WORKS AND HOW TO TROUBLE SHOOT... If the website routerlogin.com doesn't open using chrome please use the default web browser on your laptop or desktop.. If you are not able to connect to certain games that are played online (call of duty, Fifa etc) Firstly: open the link routerlogin.com or .net and change your geo filter to your current location and it will connect very very quickly to the game... Second: add your PlayStation or other device and chose the game you are playing if it is there in the list and you will connect to your game asap...

My XR300 arrived 2 days ago. Using the interface is extremely easy, DumaOS sounded promising and did deliver! Five people connected to the same router in our house. 1 working laptop as working from home, 4 Smartphones, 1 Smart TV and a Gaming pc. When it comes to pc gaming and others are connected to the same network, it does reduce the ping spikes almost entirely like 97% of it while it the prority for games also works like a charm!

Its a wifi router... lets be clear, it can't be quicker than your actual internet connection... So, yes you maybe able to talk to the router from your device at 1.75gigabits per second... but you only talk to the internet at whatever speed you've gotten from your ISP, this fancy router does not help you speed that connection in anyway... Between machines on your wifi though you will notice a difference from older b, g or n class networks. So much so, as a power user, I found it was possible to acceptably mount a remote (NFS) share over wifi and have no noticeable delay between units in different parts of the house without having to run wire-everywhere. However, even this wasn't perfect, the router will prioritize one device for speed/throughput, as such by default you will need to go into the interface to tune things up. The interface itself is rather nice, better than the ACS1400 this unit replaces, NETGEAR have really improved the web interface, it's easier to see what's going on and monitor performance. The "gaming" aspects to the router are a little gimmick riddled to my eye though, it optimized throughput of devices as you configure or it detects demand you do not configure your device (laptop, console, tablet, pc whatever) in anyway, it's all done on the router itself. Looks-wise, this stealth fighter effect is very pleasing, I was surprised you could not tilt the aerials into a "forward" position though, going from a 4 aerial to a 3 unit made no real difference, but with the router facing "forwards" the aerials at the rear I did notice the encompassing bubble for the broadcast area to not be as far (the rabbits will have to do without wifi in their shed). But the signal was more positive upstairs, connecting to & registering the signal was quicker. Up-time was 100% during the three months I've had the unit, gaming is fine (but it was fine before), the prioritizing control did help me improve the laptop whilst working and I noticed a difference when making my media server the priority and streaming from it.

🚨THIS IS A ROUTER NOT A MODEM YOU WILL NEED A MODEM TO USE THIS🚨 Thought we'd try this to improve online gaming experience. Mainly Fortnight amongst others. Our speeds are around the 200-300mbps usually but thought this could boost it more to get the max speeds upstairs. The initial set up just would not work for us. It kept asking for our desktops Mac address then it would say it can't connect then the page would reset back to the first one. The desktop we have is a Dell gaming PC it's not an old one so we couldn't understand why it was not connecting. A few times it crashed the PC. In the end we decided to try and set it up via a mobile phone which the the quick start guide (which is the only instructions that came with it) says it does not recommend. It worked absolutely fine, didn't ask for Mac address and was super simple and easy to follow. Took less than 5 minutes to set it up on phone, ran a speed test on the desktop and our speed was back up to 305.4 mbps. Our speeds across the devices stayed high like this for the first few days then bit by bit it was reducing, nothing we did improved the speed. After about a week and numerous speed tests we decided once the speeds came in at around 64mbps across our devices enough was enough. We switched our hub 3 (we're with virgin media) back to router mode and disconnected the Netgear router. If you enter the router settings either by the App you can download or the routers IP address, you can prioritise what device you want the best signal/speed being sent to I.E games console or laptop etc. This is a handy feature if you know what your doing. Plenty of options to customise your Internet. I didn't mess about with that too much so maybe that's why signal and speeds were dropping I don't know. All I do know is since switching back I've had no issues with speeds. This router may be of use if your Internet speed is usually slow, as ours was quite high to begin with it didn't make much difference. In my opinion the price is quite high for what it is overall but that's my experience. To much faffing about for little reward.
