How much in inches will the top stretch (wide) to? Do they stay up?

I don’t know how wide they get they weren’t wide enough for my thigh calves, so I stuck them in the sock drawer.

What’s the material composition? Cotton, bamboo, nylon, spandex etc. percentages?

I don’t know but I didn’t like them because they were too thin for my boots. I’m sure I under description it will tell you what they are made of
