We switched Merrick healthy grains for our yorkie and are satisfied with the results. The kibbles are small and easy for her to chew. The sound softer than our previous brand lol. Our lady seems happier and healthier as she’s able to chew them without an issue. The kibbles are fresh and last a long time. These are prices bit in my opinion worth the extra cost. They don’t smell bad so our dog doesn’t smell bad. (The previous brand smelled bad and our lady would smell like the food we are what we eat) I highly recommend Merck healthy grains

My five year old 5 pound Chihuahua has been eating this food her entire life and she enjoys it and I have no complaints with the quality of the food itself. What I have a complaint with is spending $24 on a 4 pound bag of food that is only half full when I open it. I submitted pictures of my brand new bag that I just opened and we are lucky if there are even 2 pounds in it. If you are looking for a good quality dog food, then I give this one 5 stars… I just feel completely cheated by how little they are putting in the bags now and I feel $24 for 2 pounds of dog food is ridiculous.

I searched high and low for a good healthy food for my 10lb chihuahua that was actually nutritious, gentle on the stomach, and not full of fillers and then I found this miracle! One small bag lasts her one month exactly, with 1/2 cup eaten a day. She’s never been a big eater but she is a picky eater. She’s 9 years old, and has healthy teeth (the key is deer antlers and hard food for chihuahuas), and she’s never gained weight on it. I started her on it at about 1.5 years old when she was getting sick eating puppy chow and picking certain pieces out. She loves this food. It is a little on the pricier side but sooo much healthier than the junk you buy at Walmart or other non-pet department stores. I will say that when I first started buying it the bags were super nice because they had ziplock closures at the top to maintain freshness. Now they don’t so I use a bag clip to close it and keep it fresh. It was a nice feature though.

This review is not about the quality of the product. I have been purchasing this dog food monthly for 7 years and absolutely no complaints about its quality. My dogs love it and they are both healthy. The last time I purchased Amazon delivered the wrong quantity. I ordered the 12 lb bag and received 4 lbs. i called customer service and I was told to keep the 4lb bag and they will send what I ordered. The next day I received another 4 lb bag again !!! Still short 4 lbs !! Didn’t bother try to call Amazon again as I was so angry. I will not purchase this product from Amazon again until I am assured I will get the correct quantity!!!

I have been feeding my 11lb standard Yorkie this food since she was about 2 when we rescued her. Coming from a family who re-homed her and didn't care very much about her health and well being. I began searching for a kibble for her that would be both sustaining and have nutritional value. I wanted to make sure i found something without grain, as lots of research began to show that lots of brands of kibble with grain or substitutes were known to gradually cause heart problems in pets over the course of their life. I finally decided on this kibble (also very affordable, woohoo!) and my little Abby cannot wait for breakfast and dinner. I do pair this kibble with supplements and occasional treats and i did really start to see a difference in her figure and coat! Obviously paired with proper exercise. Being in the pet industry, if there is one thing i can pass on, it is that more pet owners need to do their research!! Not all of those fancy, expensive dog brands will do it for ya and sometimes all you need is a proper balanced diet that could even benefit your budget! Every pet is different with individual needs, but my kiddo has been eating this for years and i have seen nothing but good results. Also if you are looking into changing your pets diet, ALWAYS remember to gradually transition them from old food to new. This will ensure they will not get an upset tummy and their body can adjust to the new change!
