Does this increase the water pressure as advertised?

It does but it needs a good water pressure to start with. I bought it for my mum's house where the water pressure is terrible and it wouldn't even come out of the shower head. I put it on my electric shower to test it and it hit the ceiling! That being said the water was under so much pressure that was very misty and went everywhere. I wouldn't recommend
