Review: I've been a vegetarian for more than 40 years now and I even wrote three cookbooks. This work is a rare gem. I don't particularly enjoy middle- eastern cuisine but I wanted to try every recipe in this book! A wonderful achievement proving once again that a meal without meat can be exciting. innovating and satisfying. Bravo! Review: This is a terrific book. The recipes are interesting but also accessible - the style of food reminds me of a Yotam Ottolenghi book, but generally not as complicated or time consuming as his recipes. There are some exceptions, so the book would suit more experienced cooks as well as beginners. I was immediately inspired to make the tomato and bean soup with harissa and honey, which was not only delicious, but really quick and easy to put together. My husband liked it so much he made it again a couple of weeks later. The second thing I made was the freekeh pilaf with spiced roasted pumpkin and shallots, which was similarly successful. The recipes really work. There are some unusual ingredients, but the authors generally suggest practical substitutions in case you find these difficult to obtain. I have a big collection of cookbooks and sometimes find myself buying new ones and not cooking from them very much - I can genuinely say this one is going to end up covered in cooking stains. It helps that the book is also beautiful to look at, with photos of nearly every dish.

Turning a cob of corn into a main course is what this book has given me. I'm trying to incorporate more vegetarian meals into my family and friends lives. This book is beautiful and inspiring. And the seasonings and techniques translate to soon many other ideas. This book was a present to me.

I gave up after ordering this book twice. I got heavily damaged books twice. So I bought it in store.
