Transcend USB 3.1 SDHC/SDXC/ microSDHC/SDXC Card Reader, TS-RDF5R (Pink)

Honestly, while this is what I required, I wasn't as sure this would end up being the correct one for me - that said, it worked perfectly for all my SD-based cards; with support for SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), micro SD, micro SDHC (UHS-I), and micro SDXC (UHS-I), that covers the gamut of my use and reason fulfilling also the need for portability as well. Oh and value for the price, as of this review still under $7 Prime. Phones, tablets, DAPs and cameras in descending order of equipment using the cards, whether downloading from or uploading to, this device FIT met all my file shifting needs.

I ordered this USB card reader when I could no longer use a cord for my Nikon DSLR camera due to damage to the USB cable plug-in rendered using a cable impossible. This card reader works perfectly for my needs. It didn't need any type of initializing to use. I simply put the card in the larger slot and plugged it into the computer. It's slim and easy to store in any camera case, even if there isn't a separate compartment for accessories. It certainly takes up less space than a cord. I have only tried it with the standard DSLR camera SDHC card, but I'm sure the micro slot would work equally well. It was a great price to boot. I would definitely recommend this card reader to others looking for an information transfer from cameras with the listed cards.

These are extremely fast. I ordered 2 of them.I'm grateful it comes with an adapter. The adapter is where the micro sd card goes.Then, I transfer all data from my laptop to it. I pull the micro sd card out after I'm done and insert it into my Kindle or my phone while those devices are powered off.It's not good to plug my Kindle or phone into my laptop and transfer data to the micro sd card while it is installed in those devices.I tried it and it doesn't work.

This works great and has lasted more than six months. I love that it is so tiny and portable and has a cap for the USB connector -- less of a chance of damaging it and I can keep it with me all the time. I might even buy another one because I like to keep this one with my small camera so that if I'm at an event such as a birthday party, I can immediately give someone copies of the photos before I leave. I don't like to keep the camera cable with me -- I prefer a card reader. I use this with SD cards and it's pretty fast if you are connecting it to a USB 3.0 port. I still don't understand why card readers aren't automatically part of every new computer made, but until then I'll keep buying these. I was happy to see that my new Macbook has an SD card reader, but my iMac doesn't and this reader works great when transferring large amounts of photos to that computer.I haven't had any errors with reading cards in this, which I have with other readers. Sometimes they stop in the middle of transferring a file and end up corrupting the file, but this one has been great in that respect.I try to give thorough and honest reviews that help others decide whether or not a product will work for them. Had a Rocketek brand reader, thing broke after maybe 4 months use. Tried the Anker brand one (I typically like Anker's charging cables, power banks, etc.) and that one didn't work properly from arrival. Always threw some weird read-only error that wouldn't allow me to write to my SD cards.This Transcend reader works perfectly. I like its simplicity and size, just one slot for SD and one for microSD. Each slot reads and writes to my Samsung and SanDisk cards without issue. Not sure what speeds are like, I have it in a USB 3.0 slot with an AmazonBasics USB 3.0 extension cable, and I transfer relatively small files. But the reader has been great for over a month now. Will update review if/when it should fail.

I've had USB 3.0 ports on my computer since 3.0 first came out, and so I finally bought this to "get with the times"! This works perfectly because I don't otherwise have a card reader. I haven't had any issues whatsoever, always smooth operation. I bought a 64gb micro sd card with standard size adapter to go with it, and it's been smooth sailing. I only need one, but otherwise I would order more if necessary!If you don't have USB 3.0 ports (blue, or else have "SS" next to the port) then this won't work to its full potential. You most likely need a USB 2.0 card reader.

I purchased this specifically for transferring files from my computer to my 3D printer. My computer does not have an SD card slot and I didn't want a big hub on my desk. I just keep this with my 3D printer and load up the card when I am ready to print. I have always had good luck with the Transcend brand products so this was an easy purchase. Excellent 3D printer accessory!

This is a quick review of the USB 3.0/ USB 3.1 Gen 1A great priced device first off.Frustration free packaging.Nice simple clean design.Well as you know I'm a photographer.I also shoot video.My new custom video PC has USB’s in the back and some on top.This helps me from crawling around the back on the floor.I'm sure have a built in SD and micro SD on my PC would have helped, but poor planing on my part.This solved my problem and worked perfectly.Recommended and use daily.Hope this was helpful.

Endlich gibt es mal Gadgets in der Farbe rosa! Meine ganze Gaming Ausstattung von Razer ist in rosa, Tastatur, Maus, Kitty Headset, Mauspad, meine Pentax Kamera in pink und nun auch mein Kartenleser. :)Also optisch gefällt mir dieser schon einmal sehr. Die Geschwindigkeit passt auch. Dieser kann SD Karten und Micro SD Karten lesen. Der Kartenleser erfüllt also voll und ganz seinen Zweck und sieht dabei auch noch toll aus, was will man mehr?! :) Der Preis ist dafür auch in Ordnung. Diesen kann ich auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

I bought this Transcend SD card reader because it was small, light, and supported USB 3, specifically to use with my Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter for my iPad Pro 10.5" (2nd generation). In this particular configuration, the card reader won't work without additional power (from a Lightning cable plugged into the camera adapter), but fortunately the card reader's orientation places the memory cards facing away from the Lightning charging cable so they don't interfere with each other. This is illustrated in the pictures I've provided. The card reader does work without additional power when plugged into my computer, so it would seem the requirement for external power is a problem with the Apple Lightning USB adapter / iPad setup and NOT the Transcend card reader per se. In fact, I get the same insufficient power message with any card reader I try on the iPad, even slow USB 2.0 ones. Build quality seems OK, but not outstanding, which is to be expected in this price range. I got the white by the way, just to match the colour of my iPad's front bezel and the camera adapter.

Cansados de lectores que se desconectan constantemente o bien muy lentos nos decidimos por este lector de marca conocida. Funciona perfectamente, tasas de lectura de 20-25mb con archivos de fotografía y ningún problema de conexión después de multiples usos. Pequeño y práctico, compra muy recomendable.

Works great for micro SD and normal SD cards. Really fast loading as advertised. So worth the price compared to all other crappy brands, especially compared to Bestbuy/Source/Walmart or any commercial stores. Typically a small reader like this costs $20 and they're only using USB 2.0.Pink is cheaper than the other colors, I don't mind it. Easier to find!
