As with most people I have made the change from plastic to glass in all my kitchen items. Unfortunately, even the glass containers come with some plastic, either covers or straws. I purchased these glass straws to eliminate that issue. I do have stainless steel water bottles but those even have plastic straws. Ordered these glass straws but was concerned they may be fragile and cause more harm than good. The minute I opened them I could feel how well made and durable they appeared. While washing in the sink I dropped one and it did not crack or break. Amazing!! They are so smooth and fit well in my large water container perfectly. It did come with a straw cleaner, that I found to be very coarse, not sure if I will use that. I do not intend to put in the dishwasher but hand wash. They are already bent so that works. They are thick and durable after using a few days. Very functional alternative to plastic and I believe they will last a long time. No residual taste that I can detect. Beautifully designed and functional.
