The classic art of the pen
Great fountain pen, that writes very smoothly with no tooth at all, smooth as silk across the page. I prefer light pens and this is a very light pen. Since I write with the cap posted, the balance of this pen is just perfect, its not top heavy at all and you can write for long periods without fatigue. There is no feathering of the ink, it starts right up with only minimal skip on the first stroke on occasions. This is a wet writer, but without any pooling and lines are well defined at the edges. Beautiful 14K gold nib and the classic Montblanc "ageless" style. I checked all the normal factors for authenticity, and the pen passed them all. Its larger than my Montblanc 144 and to me its the perfect size. I tried the 149 at my local Montblanc store and that pen was just way too big for my taste. The 145 is the perfect size. Yes, they are expensive, but most well made things are.

Montblanc fountain pens are the best on the market
I have used Montblanc pens for many years and I have given these pens as gifts to my two nephews. The pen arrived without any damage because it was very carefully packaged by Amazon. I am very happy with the performance of this pen as it supplements my other pens all of which have finer nibs. I grew up with Conway Stewart pens and the wonderful Parker 51 pens but Montblanc is by far the best fountain pen that I have used.

This pen is overpriced for anything this slim, light, and cumbersome.
Overall, Montblanc pens are extraordinary and feel like an extension of the hand, but this model is too slim and awkward compared to other models. This was not at all what I expected d and have used in the past.

Repair Assistance
I am very happy with the repair on my wife's fountain pen. I am also extremely pleased with the personal attention I received from Pam at the Houston Montblanc boutique. She coordinate the repair work and also provided excellent assistance with my newly purchased pen.

Quality
I am. a robust fan of Montblanc writing instruments. This particular pen had the black finish on outer portion of the barrel was peeling. While all product is subject to defects, I hold Montblanc to a higher staton for three reasons: (1) Montblanc has very good inspection of product before shipping, (2) Montblanc has a significantly high price over most competition, (3) my experience with the Montblancs I have has been much Breyer than the condition of this instrument. Returning soon.

Montblanc. Best in Class? My Experience: Yes.
Writing Experience | Filling | Feel | Quality Writing Experience No hard starts. Smooth flow and low resistance. So low that I haven't noticed it. The nib lays down a consistent flow of ink, at least the medium nib that was included with my pen. The writing experience with this Montblanc Meisterstuck Chopin/Classique (145) is the reason I use fountain pens. Filling This model — the 145 — is the only Meisterstuck I know of that uses a cartridge converter filler, rather than the piston type used on other Montblanc pens. There is no ink level window with this model. Some prefer the ease of use with cartridges. I prefer the converter: more ink choices, easier resupply. Feel I hardly notice the pen is in my hand. I have very big hands. Paws, actually. I have considerable difficulty finding gloves that fit. Given that, this smallish pen is a very workable size for me. I was surprised by that. It feels like an extension of my (large) hand. Quality Take a magnifying glass and view the details of almost any tool sold today. Minute flaws, misalignments, uneven paint and/or decorative elements. That is not true of this pen. The nib is a work of art. If quality is important to you, a Montblanc fountain pen is a must-have. I bought the Montblanc Meisterstuck Chopin 145 seven years ago. I wish I had bought a thousand. They've doubled in price! If it were the only pen available, I wouldn't complain.

Good Buy
So, first off, it is not a fake, but you will NOT get a warranty card. Next - it is unlike other MB's I have, i.e. it is very light and feels fragile - it is M but writes more like B. The ink flow is good and keeps up. It is a very wet writing pen with reasonable amount of flex in the nib should you like to flex it. I prefer fine, but given the price, I just bought the pen and asked MB to replace the nib. (it is a gold nib so it will cost you, plus given there is no warranty card, remember they will not do the complementary free replacements they typically offer). You can also explore nibmeister's, I have used them in the past and they do a better job than MB anyway!

Nice fountain pen with a few problems
The pen writes smoothly and the script looks good. However,I have two complaints: the clip is loose and rattles when the pen is moved. Tightening the top cap helps for only a few minutes. My second complaint is that the ink reservoir only fills about half way up so frequent refilling is necessary.

Quizás el plumin sea un poco grueso de trazo pero hon papeles satinados mejora mucho. Suavidad y trazo perfecto.

I've always liked writing with fountain pens and aspired to one day owning a MontBlanc. I saw this one and it looked similar in shape and dimensions to the one I considered my most comfortable pen, so decided to treat myself. When it turned up (on time and in perfect condition) and I opened the box, I couldn't believe it. My other pens are nice quality, but this Montblanc just seems more robust and shiny than the other ones, like a piece of jewellery, and when I'd filled it and started writing, it was the same, just better than all the others. I know it seems like you're paying a lot of money, but if you want to treat yourself to one that is the last one you'll need to buy, it's worth it.
