Amazing picture quality and mesmerizing Ambilight
So I bought this 58" TV to replace an old Philips TV (still works fine, but is too small for the viewing distance in my current house), and I am blown away by the ambilight and picture quality. It is gorgeous, and so immersive. I got this together with the sound bar/subwoofer and can say the sound quality is excellent too. It was great to have this kit for Eurovision and I'm looking forward to playing some games on it. The design is clean and modern and the overall look is just beautiful. Very happy with this. I'm also pleased to say that Philips have addressed the "foot screw issue". Several people have reported receiving screws for the feet on the TV that are too long, but as confirmed by later buyers and now myself that is no longer the case. I'm also very pleased to be able to buy a European/Dutch product of this outstanding quality, instead of something Asian (with all due respect for Asian quality and engineering). Assembled in Poland, and I'm sure the component parts come from all over the world, but it's a start. My previous Philips TV's are 17 and 12 years old and still going strong, so I am looking forward to spending the next decade with this beauty. What a TV! And altogether for less than 700£, that's ridiculously good value for money. I'm super, super happy.

Exceptional TV viewing experience, but sluggish response
We have this setup in the corner of our living room, so when the Ambilight comes on it really turns the TV into a show piece and the light effect still works very well. It's better than it looks in the pictures, and worth buying this TV for. Picture quality is very good, its not that far off my significantly costlier QLED. Sound is good for a TV unit, can always add a soundbar to improve but I haven't needed to. This TV doesn't have Disney or Funimation available, but it does have Netflix and Amazon. That's what I have an xbox for, or could always get a firestick. My only real complaint is that if left on for a while, the TV becomes real sluggish and unresponsive to the remote buttons. You'll hit volume up, see the red light flicker, and wait about 10 seconds for the volume to actually change. Now and again, it never even does, just gives up. This is easily solved by simply turning it on and off again at the wall, so not too much of a pain, but may irritate some who perhaps can't reach the sockets or such. All in all, price dependent of course (I paid £380), I can easily recommend this TV.

Ambilight is fantastic, but the TV is disappointing
I thought that I’d give the Ambilight a go, and I have to say - it’s fantastic. Not a gimmick, you’ll be used to it after a few days and watching other TVs without it feels odd! The image quality is half decent for UHD videos and I’m pleasantly surprised with the sound quality. However there are some real issues with this TV if you’re coming from a solid brand like a Samsung or Sony. The remote is not laid out in a friendly way (disorganised and the selection wheel/volume controls are not prominent so you never know what you’re pressing in the dark). It’s also extremely slow to respond to inputs - literally about 2 seconds from pressing the remote to the TV responding, which can be frustrating when browsing streaming services’ catalogues. Another major issue is app availability. You’ll be stuck with a bunch of third party apps you can’t install, and there’ll be no Apple TV+ or Disney+, you’ll be stuck with the basics (Netflix and Prime Video). Channel navigation can be a bit clunky for live TV, too. All in all I’m pleased with it for the Ambilight, it’s made a great bedroom TV; but I wouldn’t recommend as a primary television due to its un-user friendliness in a number of departments.

Poor sound and philips customer service is terrible
The sound went only 6 weeks after buying this TV. Philips customer service is absolutely disgusting. The picture quality is OK. Not bad but not great either, specially for sports. Cartoons on the other hand are very good. The abilight is amazing and couldn't have a tv without it now. Amazon customor serv stepped up and put Philips to shame and did everything possible to try fix the TV and then issued a full refund when communications with the repair centre wasn't up to par - very happy in general with outcome and that I'm not stuck out of pocket for a broken TV .

Brilliant value for money!
Great Tv, very happy with the incredible picture quality. Easy to set up. The Ambilite is brilliant, as the whole wall lights up. Recommend a sound bar or surround sound of some kind as the tv speakers are not loud or basey enough, but my Samsung and LG TVs are just the same.

Love the reactive ambient LED lights
You don't realise how big a 70" screen is until you have one, then my previous 50" starts to feel like a portable TV. For the price probably the best on the 70" range. Found the settings that control the picture brightness easy to find and use plus all the preset settings for movies, natural, game modes etc. Renders films and games very well even does a half decent job with the sound when you don't have a sound bar to hook up to. The reactive ambient lights on the back of the TV are a great feature, adds another dimension to the things you watch, I've yet to pair it up to Philips Smart lights to get the whole dynamic living room atmosphere changing to the film scenes, but when I do, its going to be amazing. One thing that could be improved, on some scenes I see a fractional jitter as the scene is changing - hard to explain and give the right impression but could do with being more smooth - something I'm accepting along with other positives for the price instead of paying thousands for way overpriced OLED versions.

Absolutely amazing value for money
Picture amazing. Ambilight better than amazing. Sound OK. OS is better than Android TV which is buggy as hell. At £420 it's a ridiculous bargain.

Brilliant TV very good value for money
The picture and sound are both great quality. It has led lights running around the back and u can set them to light up with the sound of people voices or the background music or just as ur program colours when the lights r going it brightens up the whole corner that u have it in feels like ur at the cinema watching ur favourite TV shows brilliant buy.

A éviter !
