Favorite Breakfast of a Lazy Cook
I love a healthy nutritious breakfast but hate spending any time on preparation. I was delighted to find McCann's Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal, Quick and Easy since I prefer steel cut to rolled oats. I have this every morning (I posted a picture of the nutritional label) and prepare 3/8 of a cup of oatmeal with 3/4 cup of water in the microwave for 5 minutes but at 40% power to prevent over boiling. It gives me a really good consistency and I add Splenda, lots of cinnamon and canned pumpkin puree along with whatever fresh fruit I have around. It's delicious and for just over 300 calories, prepared this way, I have a breakfast that doesn't play havoc with my blood sugar and keeps me satisfied till lunch. I will admit that my little dog stands in line for her fair share of a couple of spoonfuls in her dish. She loves it and I think it is a nutritious way to start her day too.

Optimal oatmeal for cholesterol reduction
This is the best oatmeal anywhere - right balance of health benefits and ease of prep. BEST for cholesterol reduction One part oatmeal to three parts water. Five minutes in the microwave (6 1/2 minutes if you have a toy microwave). Repeatable perfection.

Quality is good. Price is good. These oats are hard if not impossible to find locally.

What's better than one can of McCann's? Six cans
I love this oatmeal but no store around me carries it. Luckily, Amazon does. I was just buying one can at a time, but this pack of six was too good a deal to pass up. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. No dents or open cans. The expiration date is a year away so I'm good there. I've tried different brands and I like the texture best on this one. It's easy to make and all I add is some chai and flaxseed as well as blueberries or cut up apple. For someone who used to hate oatmeal (me, I'm someone), McCann's has turned me into a fan. I'd definitely order this again.

Good Oats but Shipping could be better
I like this kind of steel cut oats and I like the can that it comes in. I ordered 2 cans and they came in a box with one piece of paper that didn’t help at all with keeping the cans from rolling around and getting dented and the lids popped off.
