You can't go wrong with an American Professional II Standard Precision bass.
Amazing playability. The satin neck is effortless. The bone nut is a nice touch along with the V-mod pickups you get very defined string/note definition.

The space is freaking ridiculous!!!!!!
Okay about a week ago I went to Guitar Center and purchased a player's series P Bass, it took about an hour to set it up and it was pretty good so I thought,, something was missing actually a few things were missing. But nothing I thought I could overlook. And then today curiosity took over and I went to another music store and grabbed a American professional version,,WOW!!!!!!! Just unbelievable how great this base is, I will say that the Mexican versions are better than I've ever seen at least in the last 25 years or so. But this new professional base is as good a base as any I've played including the four and $5,000 versions that Fender puts out and any Boutique base out there like, Sadowski, Lakeland ,Etc.. I don't know what they're doing different at Fender but the quality is just ridiculous. Really love the better Bridge with the three slots for saddle to get the spacing a little closer to the way you might like it.. this base came about 90% set up but it's not perfect you still have to set the intonation action and cut off a little bit of each string and put it back in the post cuz it's a little bit over wrapped.. but yeah for about a 6 or $700 difference between this and the Mexican version I would pay $1,000 more for this one in still feel it was fair. If you want to just buy one base at a fair price and never have to repeat the process?? This is the base to get
