Best reel value on planet Earth
Outstanding. I can't imagine how this quality comes at this price. 20 stars. I just spent 330 dollars on a Sage reel. I could have had 15 or so of these and just thrown them away after use.

Really nice for the money
Very nice! I had zero issues with it fighting big trout. Drag was good, Line cast ok. Very good deal. I will buy another.

Good price, good reel
I've used this reel for a couple seasons now, mostly for Panfish and small Bass. It has worked well. I'd buy again.

Drag works one way but not the other
This product says “ambidextrous”, but the drag only works one way. For me, when pulling line out, there is no clicker and it can just spin freely which sucks. I need some resistance when pulling line out of the reel so I can control how much line I’m taking out. Otherwise it spins freely and shoots a ton of line out if you pull on it. This would be perfect if it had a clicker for both directions. Or is mine broken?

You can spend more if you want but...
Very nice die cast aluminum 3/4 fly reel. Nothing fancy but it will do the job at a cost significantly less than a lot of reels and I fish for the enjoyment not for a gear brand name contest. I'm looking forward to pairing it with my Maxcatch transparent fiberglass 3/4 weight fly rod. I was originally looking at the various trout themed Eco reels but then I paused a second and thought about how those nice paint jobs would get scratched and marred in actual use and went, instead, for a classic old school silver.

Almost perfect
I purchased this fly reel to do some flyfishing for panfish and small bass. Received the reel and was impressed at the quality of the materials for the price. Has a nice weight to it. The line that comes on the reel is good and does what I need. The drag system is OK but not great which is good cause it's for small fish. The main problem I have and why I can't give it a 5star rating is due to the fact that it literally reels itself in as you are making your false cast. And that becomes a problem when you strip off plenty of line to reach your target area or fish, and when youake the shoot, you fall short and loose the fish. Gonna try to reach out to the company for a fix. I will keep everyone posted.Update: shortly after this review, maxcatch reached out to me wanting to make the situation right. They sent a second reel out at no charge. Unfortunately, the new reel does the same thing straight out of the box. But, I will say that it is no where near as bad as the original. And because of how quickly they got back with me and offered to do what they can to make it right, I am changing my review rating to a 4 star. If there was a way to make it a 4.5 I would. I just can't give a 5 because to me, the product and company would have to be almost perfect. And yes, I do recommend this product as well as their flyrods.
