Verilux HappyLight Alba - New Round UV-Free LED Therapy Lamp, Bright White Light with 10,000 Lux, Adjustable Brightness, Color, and Countdown Timer

WOW. I’ve been feeling quite low energy after a particularly brutal winter in NYC. I had no desire to clean or work even though ~getting things done~ usually brings me joy in warm weather. I kept reading that it takes consistent use to few positive effects, but I felt it IMMEDIATELY. 20 mins into reading my book with the lamp on my bedside in the placement recommended by the pamphlet, I was literally smiling and feeling like the air smelled cleaner - like I was outside laying on a comfy blanket in a park. After an hour of reading by the light, I felt the urge to pop up and deep clean my apartment, which I did, which helped boost my mood even more to have felt productive without guilt or shame or pressure - just a genuine desire to move and clean. I asked chatgpt (don’t judge) if that was a common reaction and learned it was! The bright light going into the retina generally stimulates that sort of reaction due to dopamine boosts, increased alertness, and nervous system regulation. Everyone is different but I gotta say - this WORKS for me, someone who is already on SSRIs and still felt the lethargic, dull effects of a long cold winter / Seasonal Affective Disorder. This is a great size, feels like it will last a long time, and I like the buttons that allow it to be more warm. I really considered purchasing the cheaper knockoffs but this is an actual medical grade device and i trust the metrics and tests that this company does (I did a lot of research and the claims made by the cheaper products are not always verified / verifiable. And in any event, now that i have this, i would’ve paid double what i paid for it - it’s very much worth the price.

If you live in a place with gray winters, this light is a must-have. I’ve been using the Verilux HappyLight as part of my morning routine, and the difference in my energy levels is noticeable. It provides a bright, clean light that really helps clear the morning fog and get my brain into "work mode." The design is slim and doesn't take up much space on a desk, making it easy to use while I'm reading or working on my laptop. It’s simple to operate, but the real value comes from the consistency of using it every day. It has become a key tool for staying disciplined with my mood and focus when the sun isn't out. Highly recommended for anyone looking to maintain their momentum year-round.

This is my third or fourth "happy light" over the years. It looks very nice and sleek and works great. The only issue I have is the style takes precedence over the function. The controls are very subdued on the rear of the lamp-- it is tricky to find them by just using the feel. The timer button is really counter-intuitive. I have to crack open the instruction manual to figure our the strange formula of short and long presses to set the time. The instructions are well-written and explain it well, but I would have never been able to set the timer without the directions. The light is plenty bright enough. It has three different color temperatures and three brightness settings. I would have liked a longer cable for it, but it uses a standard USB-C connection, so I have longer cables around.

Great light therapy lamp. Wish the back buttons weren't so sensitive to touch. Love the size and shape.

If you love having the attributes of beauty, function, efficacy and health in the material goods of your life, then I can not recommend the Alba Happy Light enough. I wanted to feel like: I was sitting outside on a very sunny day (but not like on a beach with blazing sun) feel the health benefits of that exposure in uplift in mood and functioning not add more bulky apparatuses to my work space or relaxation space have everything I put in my living spaces add beauty and look elegant.... and the Alba Happy Light delivered! I would put one in every room if I could afford it. It is a beautiful round shape, elegant and fairly small. It brightens the room, and makes the space feel cheery even on a dark and cloudy day. In fact, you will be "singing in the rain" (singing on a rainy day). I clearly feel better at the end of a work day when I have to work inside all day by having it around me. And it is easy to move around - so lightweight - you can just move it from room to room with you. I love this product. You do need to be mindful about the charger attachment as when I wasn't careful it bent when I let the lamp fall. However, the customer service is as excellent as the light itself! They resupplied me with a whole unit! I have also loved some of the other verilux lamps - yet the Alba is the queen for me! It will bring happiness to your office or home!

Using this for 30 minutes after waking up every day has helped boost my mood during the day. This is also supposed to help maintain your circadian sleep schedule to get the best sleep possible.

Just got this for Christmas and it’s already made my brain work a little better (during winter months for SAD especially)! Update: the USB-c pretty much fell apart when I went to remove the plug to put it away and now I can’t use the lamp at all :( please help? Update again: I tried to use my Apple MacBook charger with the same voltage and it won’t power on the lamp too, so idk if something got screwed up inside of it when I removed the plug but I can’t use the lamp at all - adding pic of plug port

I like this light. It is compact, easy to use and easy to stash away when not in use. I like the timer function allowing me to set it in run for however long I have time for that day. What I don’t like is that some features are intermittently failing. The time either won’t activate at all (which means the unit must be turned off and on again several times or I have to self time my use) or the timer never goes off,and I sit in front of the light until I realize I’m going to be late! The unit other failure is the light mode. The unit has a switch in the back that toggles through the various levels of light intensity. Some days some of then aren’t available, specifically the setting I use, sometimes others. Then there are periods where all light intensities are available

I've been using another lamp from a different company for years now but wanted to try this one as well. I've been using it for several days now and can confirm positive results. What I like: -The unit feels robust and everything feels high quality. -The LED light is perfectly uniform and reveals little to no flickering when I point my camera at it unlike my first SAD lamp. -Choice of 3 tints from white - warm - warmest is an excellent option. -Touch controls work well. Love the timer feature that uses LED lights to show much time is left -Solid stand. One reason I chose this is the other lamps have flimsy looking stands. The only disadvantage is this one is fixed and cannot be adjusted or removed -Completely silent. My first lamp has a hissing sound. -3 year warranty, giving me peace of mind that I can use this for hours on end. -The lamp is just as bright as my other one that is rated at 10,000 lux at 7 inches. The manual says this lamp is rated at 10,000 lux at 6 inches perhaps because of the smaller light area. I prop the lamp on a box and keep it close to my face to achieve this (see picture). But remember, you can keep the lamp further if desired, but you just need to have longer sessions to get the same therapeutic effects. -The benefits I've noticed is that I am more alert and don't easily get sleepy during the day. I also get tired early at night, making it easy to go to bed early, stay asleep, and wake up early. I also notice a better mood overall. When I wake up in the morning and have adjusted to normal indoor light, I then use this lamp at the lowest setting and slowly increase every minute or so until at max brightness. I use the lamp for 1-3 hours in the morning and don't use it past 2pm. My sleep has been amazing also because I don't spend my evenings on a screen anymore but go to sleep early after reading a book.

I will never buy this brand's products again. After using it for just over a week, the connector cable broke, and I couldn’t find a similar replacement cable on the market. I contacted HappyLight’s customer service, and they told me to reach out to the Amazon store. However, it seemed that the store name had changed. After mistakenly sending my message to the wrong store, I contacted Amazon customer service, and they helped me get in touch with the current store. But the current store then told me to contact HappyLight headquarters. After going in circles and wasting so much of my time, the issue was never resolved. I ended up just throwing the product away. I'm now using a different brand's floor-standing light therapy lamp, and it works great.

I have never used one of these lights.This is small compared to a lot that is offered which appealed to me. I like the ease of use and the options you have in setting it up to use. You have 4 light strengths and 4 colour shades of light to choose from. How effective less light would be I have no idea. It is bright, but you can start out with a lower setting for light intensity and time and work up to what you need. The booklet is clear in directions and use. Heed the warnings if you have any issues. I bought this in November with skepticism it'd would help, HOWEVER I have found it has helped me through the darker period of winter so far, and I am less dragged down by the grey weather on the coast. Also my sleep has improved incredibly which was a huge surprise for me. I would recommend it, but you have to know it takes awhile - a month or 2 before you may feel some effects.

This light is GREAT. I had an older model of therapy light by Verilux, but after a tumble to the floor, the plug/jack thing was bent and wouldn't work anymore, so I had to replace the light. This time I went with this model and I am SO NOT disappointed. The extra features are great. Love that I can dim the brightness/warm/cool and use it as a room light and not just for therapy. Love that there is a timer. Love how easy it is to use. And the plug/ jack thing is even updated! Definitely a great product. I ordered another!

I love the different warmth and brightness settings. This lamp also works great for taking photos since it mimics natural light! I did have an issue with the charger breaking after several months of use. But I emailed the company and a replacement is on it's way!
