If you have a HP Laserjet printer you’re used to quality. If you purchase a knock-off cheaper product it will disappoint. I recently purchased a knock-off brand and within a month it was bleeding at the edges of documents and left significant residue not long after that even after extensive cleaning of rollers and drums. Replaced with the genuine product and problems solved. This is a quality product.

This item, while relatively straight forward, is superior to many of the toners being offered for sale here on Amazon as well as other places. Why? Because it’s original and isn’t remanufactured. I’m all for recycling, protecting the environment, etc., but when you buy this OEM product you’re (a) getting a FULL cartridge of toner, and (b) the toner color acts like it is supposed to and doesn’t bleed or smear all over your printed pages. If you’re looking to save a buck, avoid this one and buy a remanufactured toner cartridge. If you’re looking for crisp and dark print on the page that doesn’t smear, and lasts more than a couple of reams of paper, choose this one at the higher price. You’ll be money ahead in the long run.

Works fine, but be sure and watch the tutorial video by HP on HP website. If you have never done a replacement, watch the video twice before you attempt opening the package & doing the installation. Do NOT forget to shake this toner cartridge, as with all toner cartridges. Tutorial video shows how to properly shake the cartridge contents, so you will have consistent black printing. Product description estimates 2300 copier w/ one cartridge, but not all printing will give that many pages, b/c bold print & small print per page will use up more toner ink. If printing becomes inconsistent, take out the toner cartridge and shake it, as described in tutorial. Note that this cartridge is for the HP400 series, not just any HP or other printer. In all fairness, I have only printed 200 copies so far in the weeks since purchased. If I don't get 1000 pages of black print, I'll do an UPDATE to this customer comment. I gave up on inkjet printers, though cheaper, the HP400 series is worth the extra cost.
