Durable
Greener is second to none for electrical tools. These stay sharp even after cutting into stainless steel. Great, quality product.

Great Tap Set for Portable Drills
This is a set of drill/tap for common SAE machine screws. They have a 1/4" hex base for a speed-lock adapter in your drill - Or you could use them directly in the chuck. I use this to tap brass and aluminum. It works great! Although it is a drill and tap bit in one, I strongly reccomend drilling a pilot hole if you are working with anything other than sheet metal. Just pick a bit about the size or very slightly smaller than the drill section of this bit and pilot the hole with that. The thickest I have tapped is 1/2" brass bar. I use a battery powered drill with torque limiting settings when I use this bit. It helps to apply WD-40 or cutting oil to the bit before each use. The base of the tool exactly fits my drill's 1/4" hex speed lock adapter. Keep the drill aligned correctly, and do not over-torque. If you are tapping very deeply, you may need to back out a bit to clear shavings before completing the tap. The good: 1/4 inch speed lock base, tap with your portable electric drill, threads fit well, great quality. Case contains the common SAE screw thread sizes. The bad: I cannot think of anything.

Good
Great set of taps. They're pretty durable, but I've also been easy on them since it's so expensive. I do wish it came with some spares like similar kits.

Best tap set I have ever used
This is a very good tapping bit set. It is insanely durable. I used this in an application where I needed to tap out a ton of structural columns in an old building using the 1/4-20 tapping bit. 1/3 of the columns were 1/4" thick, 1/2 of them were 3/8" thick and the rest were 1/2" thick. This bit got through them all with absolutely no problems. Of course for the thicker ones I had to pre drill with a 13/64 drillbit but that is expected when the tip on this is only so long before the thread cutters start. As long as you use plenty of oil and reverse to break the chips a lot this will not break on you. I am in disbelief at how much better it performed compared to how it is advertised. they say it will only do 1/8" but with a predrilled hole it will do up to 1/2" of structural steel! I think the people who complained it broke were using it incorrectly. If you don't go in straight then of course it will break, like any tap.

A good combo set for when you don't need indexed bits, taps and countersinks
I've been using these to drill and tap holes in mild steel plates for electrical distribution boxes that I have I am using for something other than circuit breakers. This has meant using the mid-range of these taps: 10-24, 10-32 and 12-24. I will have future use for the others and am also purchasing the next to sizes up to add to this case. Using a power driver (Milwaukee 12v lithium) has allowed me to get through the mild steel with use of cutting fluid in relatively short order. Threading using a power driver takes a lot of patience and some skill, and if you have any scrap metal to practice on, I advise you to do so first as you can easily strip out threads with a driver. In fact what I have done is go to a ratcheting hand driver that accepts hex bits, and then hand tapping after I get the initial hole drilled (stopping at about 1/3 the way up where the first threads appear on the bit). Once through hand tapping is more reliable for me and with cutting fluid and cleaning after each and every hole with a phosphor-bronze brush to remove material from the threads, I've been able to speedily put in a good dozen threaded holes in a bit less time than it took me to do it via separate drilling and tapping (although the tapping was done with a cheap, low-end set of taps that finally saw the target ones I use the most no longer able to do much). Patience and being mindful of the state of the threading, backing out when necessary to clean the bit, and then slowly going in again to finish the job is something I'm used to and having these taps on a hex bit has been a huge help. I haven't found this set to be more brittle than single taps, and they appear to wear a bit better than the cheap blue box set I picked up for the occasional job, here and there. Even with thread cleaning of the tap and tapped hole, that first screw in seems to find a bit more in the way of particulates than I would like: somewhere some fine particles aren't being removed well. The actual holes are just a bit loose, but that isn't a worry given the application on relatively thin plate and sheet steel, as the threads just need to hold and that they do just fine. PROs - A good range of taps for electrician's work - Good cutting rate for the drill section, use cutting fluid - Nice taps and remember the basics of moderate application of force and backing out to clean threads CONs - A bit pricey, that is to be admitted and that is why the one star goes - Use a good nylon tube brush to clean threaded holes, as fine particles get left behind In all a decent set of combination drill/tap/countersinks. If you already have a decent tap set, then you probably won't need these unless it is to put into a toolbox to take out on a job for quickie threading. This set is perfect if you are doing a few holes for electrical work or just need to get something put in and don't have access to a full set of indexed drill bits and taps. Worth buying! The metric set is just to expensive for my blood, though, so have to do that on the piecemeal basis for awhile more.

Awesome product!
These things rock. I used them to install lights on my utility trailer and it was so easy to drill and tap the hole all in one motion. I did break one bit, but replacements are available for each size here on amazon. It was my fault it broke. I started off trying to drill pilot holes and the bit caught and broke. After I stopped drilling pilot holes I never had a problem again. After drilling/tapping over twenty holes the bit still worked perfectly.

This works great for that
Yes, I need to drill holes, and I need screws to then fit in those holes without a nut on the other side. This works great for that. You should buy it, really. No I mean it, like right now. Why haven't you clicked that Add to cart button yet, it's right there > or maybe up there ^ it's yellow, you can't miss it, unless your color blind, then I guess it's just a gray button. These drills seem to be pretty nice quality, I haven't broken any yet, and I use the smaller two sizes the most, in both metal and plastic boxes. I was skeptical at first but it works well.

Game changer!
This self tapping drill bit set has allowed for me to stop wasting precious time and producing beautifully threaded screw holes. We love them so much, we bought a second set. Get these, you will not be sorry!
