I like these for crappies
Great rod for crappies and other panfish w/4 pound test. My go to rod with a 1000 reel..

Worthwhile purchase
Not quite sure what some folks expect in a $20 rod but I find this product to be an exceptional value. It’s incredibly light, remarkably sensitive & honestly feels good in the hands. I’ve used it primarily jigging for trout & crappie with 1/32 & 1/16 oz jig heads with no issues casting them whatsoever. Dollar for dollar I’d make this purchase over & over again.

Best ultralight on the market!!!
I own many rods for all types of fishing, but this is my go to rod out of all of them. I have 3 of these now and they are amazing for panfishing as well as trout. But if you are looking for a fun fight and to really get the most out of these they make great Walleye rocks for drifting. The fight on these whether it’s a 2lb Walleye or a 4” Bluegill feels like fighting a tuna. Very durable if you don’t treat it like a hooligan!

Have not used it yet but believe I'm going to really like it. If it is anything like the Eagle Claws I used 40 years ago it will be fun. Looks great, brings back some good memories growing up fishing with my family.

Exceptional performance and value
Incredible casting distance using powerbait mice tails for bait and fishing from shore on high mountain trout lakes. Flexible ultralight action means you'll have a lot of fun reeling in even smaller, pan-size fish. And the bigger fish? They will give you all you can handle and this rod will take it in stride! All in all, this is easily one of the best spinning rods you can buy at this price, and compares very well with rods costing several times more.

Product is not as shown in the photo
I'm going to be a bit brutal with this review because I'm kinda pissed and very disappointed. I have owned this same model of rod for 30 or 40 years and it is still my favorite trout rod. So when I saw that McGill still made this model at a very reasonable price, I decided to treat myself to a twin to my old favorite. Now, I expected some minor changes to have been made over such a long time. Value engineering is to be expected. What I did NOT expect is for the reel seat, which was aluminum, to be changed to some kind of plastic. So now I go check the listing here on AMZ again, and sure enough, the photo of the rod still shows the old style aluminum reel seat. NOT plastic, which is what I got. The photo also shows a full cork butt handle, but what you actually get is a reduced cork area on the butt. I don't mind that too much, but the point is, that photo is NOT WHAT THEY ARE SHIPPING! I'll fish it eventually and decide whether it will be my second rod, or if it will find a spot in the corner of my shed where all the other useless fishing rods end up.
