Too small
Product was well made. But it was too small. Our cat was just inside the measurements but he was still too big. If your cat is close to top end, get the next size up

If you're on the high end of the size chart, size down
I probably could have ordered down a size but I think it will be fine. His neck was a smaller size in comparison to his chest on the size chart. I couldn't find the size chart anywhere on this listing so I went directly to Travel Cat's website for that part. We took the cat out on a walk today and he enjoyed the harness. I did put the leash on and did a pull test on him before leaving and I think he'd really have to put some effort in to escape this. It seems like the part by arms fits just fine to keep him from backing up out of it. Overall, he loves it. For reference, he's about 15lbs. I wouldnt say he's fat, just big bodied and fluffy.

It’s possible for them to get out of it
For your average cat this harness is probably perfect. My baby is more on the spicy end of the scale. He didn’t hate it once it was on, even slept in it at one point. He just hates being on a leash. He slipped out of the vest (moving backwards out of it while on a leash). Little contortionist. It’s just the way the vest is, it’s possible. I have found the one that is impossible for him to get out of (‘Kitty Holster Cat Harness’), and we will utilize it for situations where he absolutely has to leave the house (emergencies, vet, moving, etc.). Other than that, I have resigned from experimenting with getting him outdoors on a leash. Eventually I’ll try a stroller, but I’m not in any hurry. My baby is an indoor cat. I buy him Kitty Lawns and cat grass to nibble and that makes a big difference. He and I will be alright:)

Seemed comfortable and didn’t cover too much
The size was pretty good, got a medium for my girl (12.5 lbs) and a large for my boy (15-16 lbs). It seems pretty secure, neither of my cats have been able to escape from them. The colors are great, they look so cute and stand out. I do think the value for money is pretty good as both my cats are a bit on the older side (2.5 yrs as opposed to kittens) and this is the first time I’ve tried to harness train them so I expected them to take much longer to get used to them, but after only a week they stopped fidgeting so much in them and started playing in them much more! I want to say thats because the harness seems pretty comfortable so they realized it’s really not that bad. While trying to harness train them, they’ve only worn them for a couple minutes each day inside before I take them off to slowly get them acclimated and it’s going well. Haven’t taken them outside yet but it’s much too cold here for now anyways.

Cat was out of this as soon as he tried
I purchased two different brands and types of cat harnesses at the same time, to see which one I would like best. This one kept popping up and had good reviews. The other brand did as well, but was half the price. I measured my cats carefully before purchasing. They are both larger cats, 15 to 16 pounds, and both have a chest of about 17 inches. I bought the appropriate size based on the chart. I adjusted it when I put it on my cat, maybe even a little too snug because I was concerned. My one cat has a history of being leash trained. He actually stood there pretty calmly while I put it on because he knew what it meant. He’s been wanting to go outside for the longest time. We headed out, sniffed around for about 15 minutes. He got acclimated to the backyard. Decided to get the zoomies and teared across the yard. I have a retractable leash, he ran so hard and fast that he yanked my arm and the leash out of my hand. The leash was tangled on patio furniture so it was easy to get the leash. He decided he did not want to be caught. I did not see him get out, but I felt it in the leash as I was untangling it. My guess is he just turned around and pulled himself out. In any case, when he decided he wanted no more of this, it took him about two seconds to get out, at which point I had a heart attack and called for my husband to come help wrangle him. Thankfully, he’s sort of a scaredy-cat so it wasn’t too hard to herd him to the back door. The harness is well constructed, with soft padding. I believe that the padding and the soft/slippery fabric helped him to escape. Unfortunately, I think I’m going to have to go with just a nylon harness with no padding, extra tight so he cannot escape. or maybe, he’ll just remain indoors and on the catio, and spend his days begging to go out. Pictures from our only adventure to show that I did have it adjusted and had it on fairly snuggly. I would not say it’s a poorly constructed harness, but it’s definitely not for me. Had I been in the front yard when this happened, he would probably be gone. Basically, it scared the heck out of me. This cat has no outdoor skills as much as he would like to think that he does. As soon as my heart rate goes back to normal, I’m returning this harness and leash.

Great harness all around!
I’ve tried 3 other cat harnesses for my orange tabby, he’s a big boy, and this one is by far the best!! Easy to put on and the most secure, not worried he can get out. Seems to be the best fitting for him as well.

Let's them go outside securely!
I recommend this harness which I saw on My Cat From Hell. The directions to put it on your cat worked perfectly. It fits nice and securely and I think it must feel like a nice hug to my cat since it's a vest and not just straps. It adjusts three places which helps it stay secure. My cat loves it because he can go outside w me now. I used a little cat nip spray on it at first to help him accept it.

Travel Cat Harness did not work for my cat
I bought both the large and medium size harness because my cat was in between sizes. I fit the large harness as tight as it would go. Initially it worked OK until my cat laid down in the grass. When he got up both of his front legs were out of the harness and he walked out of it. I next tired the medium size and again I put it as tight as it would go even though it looked a bit restrictive. The exact thing happened. My cat laid down and without struggling, when he got up his front legs were out of the harness.

I love this harness, my cat can't escape from this one, and there's room for his future growth. It's nice and light and breathable as we get hot summers here in Australia. Will send a pic of him wearing it when my kitty arrives. (Tried it on my older cat it's very comfortable for him). Thank for a great product!

My 12ish pound tuxedo has a bit of a belly going on and medium was just right for her. The harness is easy on/off after a few practice tries. It's well made, she can't wiggle her way out of it, and it's stylish as fluff. Would buy again.
