So much more comfortable than I thought!
I was super worried about three things when buying Awesome Toes. 1. Material 2. Size 3. Wearability. I am desperate for relief but skeptical since some folks reported similar products being too firm or too curved. The texture is perfect for me. I have hypermobile joints so I was worried about joint strain. I tried a bunion correction brace that pulls from the outside, but it hurts my toe joint too much. These are a little painful when you’re “getting used to them” but like shoes, you wear them for an hour or a few hours every day, and your feet become adjusted to the shape and the way your foot lands. 1. The material is firm but squishy silicone and doesn’t feel itchy at all. They don’t make my feet extra sweaty either. Huge plus. 2. My feet are super narrow and I have long toes. It’s the worst for most foot related things because they end up being too big for my foot. The Awesome Toes come with two pairs of sizes and fit my narrow W7.5 US perfectly. I love the way my toes feel in them. I move the spacers up around my joints to get more spread sometimes. 3. I wear them around the house with socks. Painful with slippers, but super comfy with crocs. My doctor said if your shoe fits your toes with the spreaders ON, then the shoe is wide enough for bunion relief. I am finding no fit in any shoe except crocs and Buffalo platforms, because my foot is so narrow. I guess I’ll have to grow with the concept of changing my shoe imprint, but that’s okay. These are so worth it. I feel stupid for not buying them three months ago. I’ve been wearing them for maybe a couple weeks and when worn after doing my foot strengthening exercises, my pain has improved a lot compared to the previous months. I’m walking a lot more now, and standing isn’t as bad. I use a single toe spacer for sleep and my shoes which has a bit more forgiveness in width. The Awesome Toes are a little intense at first so I am still adjusting slowly.

I did try on the small pair so I would know what they felt like before placing them on my son
I purchased these toe separators for my son who is severely cognitively delayed. Consequently, he cannot tell me what he thinks of them, and my review is based mostly on my observations. This lack of firsthand, extended experience with the product is why I gave it four stars instead of five. With that said, I did try on the small pair so I would know what they felt like before placing them on my son. They are soft and quite cushion-y. I felt comfortable placing the small size on his foot (left only as it is the problematic one) to help with progressive toe deformities related to his cerebral palsy and neurologic damage. They help place his toes correctly which in turn help with his foot curvature and provides a more solid base on which to walk. His left foot wants to curve inward into a "C" shape and causes him to walk on the side of his foot which in turns impacts the quality of his balance. I have placed the toe separators on his left foot for a little over two weeks now for approximately 1-2 hours per day. Even though he is non-verbal, I know his every sound and facial expression. He has not indicated any discomfort with the toe separators for this duration of daily use. I chose these Yogabody Toe Spreaders after extensively reading the reviews and honing in on the fact that customers said they were comfortable enough to walk in. This has also been my experience both in my personal test run and my son's use of the product. Since I want him to practice walking and weight bearing with appropriate foot formation, they really need to be comfortable. They can be worn inside a very wide shoe. Since I want my son to be able to wear them inside his AFO's (custom fitted braces), I did have to trim off the two smallest toe holes with a pair of scissors to achieve this goal. (Sorry, Yogabody, for revamping the product, but in the world of special needs, innovation is critical.) His big toe and the two toes next to it are the most affected and are curling under as well as forming a hammer toe situation. This reduction by two toe holes allows him to wear them while in his braces and provides all the structure and support that I am desiring to re-train his foot. I realize our use of these toe separators is somewhat unusual, but I am pleased with the quality, wash-ability and comfortableness. If my plan works and they help salvage my son's mobility, I will be beyond delighted. If my plan fails, I am still impressed with the product. The small size works best for both my son and I. He wears a size 8 in men's shoes, and I wear a size 8 in women's shoes just to give you some idea. If I order more, I would see if I could get two pairs of small instead. As for the beautiful, little wood box they come in, I like it! It is a stylish and convenient way to store the toe separators when not in use.

Purchased in 2016 - I sleep & walk in shoes with them
For those who say you can't sleep with them -- yes you can. But it does take a long time to get used to to that degree. For those who say you can't wear them in shoes -- yes you can. But you need to make sure your shoes have a wide enough toe-box. I bought these in 2016. I have pretty painful bunions which make it difficult to walk extended distances. I'm a size 6.5 womens. When I first bought these, I gave the smaller pair to my mother. I knew the larger one would be too big for me, but I wore them anyway. Like others, at first, it was too painful to wear for a long period. I remember wearing them to sleep and waking up at night because my toes were in so much pain that I had to pull the spacers off. I found that eventually I was able to walk around in them for hours. It wasn't as painful as trying to sleep with them. I wore them with athletic shoes. It was bit snug but I managed to make it work. I later got wide-toe shoes, which pushed to the comfort level back to normal/good. I can't remember how long it took -- possibly a year, maybe less, but I got to a point where I was wearing these virtually 24 hours / 7 days a week with zero discomfort. I would often forget I was wearing them. Maybe they flattened over time and that's why they became bearable. During that time, I would say they helped with the bunion pain but didn't make it go away completely. It wasn't until I got some Hoka shoes recommended by my podiatrist that the bunion pain went away almost completely during extended walks on regular streets, which is when the flareups usually happened. Wearing the Hokas with the toe separators seemed to eliminate the pain, though it took maybe another 6 months. Eventually, I stopped wearing the toe separators. But after about 6 months off, I found the bunion pain coming back. So I started wearing them again, 24/7, but by now, they were 4 years old and eventually the silicone tore completely. It didn't help that I was also wearing compression socks, which always pulled the separators as I was put the socks on. So now I'm back ordering another set. I do notice a difference in my gait when I wear these. They seem to protect my big toe and bunion so that I don't feel as much pressure against them. I do think the wooden box is unnecessary and a waste of materials. $17 is higher than other versions sold on Amazon. But for pain relief, it's still a bargain.

Tried 3 types of toe separators.......
I've learned a LOT in the last 2 months, researching and trying THREE different types of toe separators. I found Yogabody toe separators while looking for Correct Toes brand on Amazon and decided to save $ and buy these to help in my journey to relieve pain and regain foot health (I have metatarsalgia and bunions). -- I could feel on the first wear that my big toes loved being moved back out to it's natural position. I used the smaller of the 2 pair and I wear a size 10 women's shoe. Honestly, that larger pair would be for a man with very large feet, for sure. I donated that set to the thrift store. - Working up to wearing these for multiple hours, Yogabody separators didn't work well for my 4th and 5th toes. These toes, which never had pain, would start to exhibit pain and almost feel numb. You can't make any adjustments to the separators and I thought of cutting them but instead, after hours of research, and consideration, I spent $60 and bought Correct Toes separators. Hands down, well worth the investment. I say this because if you find yourself here wanting to spend less money, as I did, I highly recommend putting the investment of $45 extra into your feet. You can't wear Yogabody separators with shoes, but you can (and should) were Correct Toes with shoes while being active (not sleeping) and can make some adjustments to them for your particular feet. If you have squished toes, as the majority of Americans do, I totally recommend toe separators. They are an incredible tool as of alleviating pain and gaining healing. If you're working on healing foot pain, I recommend checking out Northwest Foot and Ankle on YouTube for some incredible information. I'm not affiliated with them -- I just have been following their recommendations and have found incredible relief. You can also find some phenomenal exercises from Petra Fisher Movement's blog. Again, no affiliation -- I just want to pass along the help I've found from people committed to healing!! I also had a QUALITY massage therapist work on my metatarsal pain and the pain is completely gone. I was SO incredibly happy and surprised. Don't give up on your health and keep trying to find the right tools for you.

Didn't work at first, but then I bought minimalist shoes (minimal shoes? I still don't know the term for these shoes)
A few things before I jump into the actual review: my feet measures size 5 wide C, but I wear Women's size 6 (M, or normal) shoes (sometimes size 6.5, depending what shoes it is, like depending on whether it's tennis shoes, dress shoes, heals, etc. - really, I don't understand what the heck is wrong with shoe sizes nowadays...). These toe spreaders fit my tiny size 5 feet. Also, I tried it on for 4 weeks now. *** Updated Review September 13, 2018 (1 year later) *** I REALLY did like these toe spreaders initially. What's not to love about it? Price point, packaging, and material were all really good, but it did not suit my needs. I have, well had, ball-of-foot pain on one foot that wasn't going away. After trying many, MANY toe spreaders over the course of 6 months, there was only one that worked... and of course the one that worked happened to be none other than the most expensive toe spreaders in the universe, CorrectToes (or Correct Toes). Without reviewing CorrectToes, I will just say that for my needs, YogaBody's toe spreaders just didn't work for me even though I really wanted it to. It alleviated some ball-of-foot pain by a little, but did not cure it (but my expensive pair did). While I really tried to "love" my Yogabody toe spreaders, they were alas unpractical. I could literally only wear these for doing light yoga or sitting on the couch with my foot up. I could not run in them, walk in them, weight-lift with them... These toe spreaders are quite bulky too, so it's not like it's very comfortable in any shoes, even my Altra shoes, so it's not even good for standing with them on. This is just my personal opinion, however. With that being said though, after trying on so many different pairs (I have literally tried on at least 10+ toe spreaders), these are the next best thing to Correct Toes. Yep. While I said that I couldn't run, walk, stand, or anything in them, they actually were the best toe spreaders (besides Correct Toes), in terms of price point, packaging, and material - and for some light yoga. As for Correct Toes, I will just say, you get what you paid for (in a good way). INITIAL REVIEW: The first 3 weeks DID NOT work for me: I will admit that I jumped the gun with this product and actually submitted for a return. I even tried it for 3 weeks before I asked for a refund. I walked with them in shoes AND barefooted, but barefoot just doesn't do it for me because I have ball-of-foot pain - so being barefoot on the hard-wood floor even with these cushiony toe spreaders was still a no-go. I tried it out, did the whole 15-30 minutes per day and worked my way up, and wished it all worked out. But it didn't. After 3 weeks AND buying appropriate shoes as recommended: However, it wasn't until I bought APPROPRIATE shoes to wear these with that I was able to wear the toe spreaders comfortably, and hence able to actually reap the benefits. I bought some Vans-looking knock-off regular minimalist shoes that was thin as all hell, but hella comfortable (best $5.99 I ever spent on shoes, to be honest, that I bought like 3 pairs). I also bought a pair of expensive Altra minimalist running shoes for those occasions that require me to not burn my soles off on the hot pavement... It even works with regular (may I add, light and thin, and with no-drop or absolutely no irregular elevation on any part of the foot or toe areas) flip-flops, the kind with the little wedge in between your big toe and second toe, and NOT the slippers type that wrap around the top of your foot. I can wear these toe spreaders in all these new shoes I bought for up to 3 hours a day now. It's been good. Really, I don't care much for the box, but it sure is convenient to have around because of my pets. The product also comes with a medium-sized toe spreader. I use it sometimes when I'm just sitting and it feels fine too, but I don't walk in them, as they are too big for my small feet. Investing in new shoes? Really...?: I know what you're thinking. Must I REALLY buy all these shoes just for a toe-spreader. Well, I don't think YOU have to, but for me, I sure think I do. The way I see it, the only reason you even need a toe spreader is either 1. you got into Yoga or a similar activity (maybe you just got into walking?? idk, somebody help me out here...) and got recommended this product or a product similar to this, or 2. it's already too late for your foot and you need a remedy to fix either the pain or the odd shape. For me, it's number 2. I didn't even know I had a problem until my foot swelled up and had to go the podiatrist, who told me what I didn't want to hear, as doctors usually do... And then suddenly I noticed that dang, my feet are indeed abnormal compared to others, and it finally makes sense why my foot has been hurting all my life (which I had largely ignored and wrote off as genetics)! I didn't even know what a podiatrist was or what bunions, ball-of-foot, or arches were until now (I honestly thought a bunion was somewhere around the butt, the heels were called ball-of-foot, arches is what you do to your back, and podiatrists studied plants - yep, ignorant fool here). While I didn't like the change of lifestyle, I sure want to be able to continue walking for the rest of my life without having to worry about these simple yet unpleasant issues again (I only say they're 'simple' because I look at my feet and keep thinking how one little misaligned bone can make or break me). So, yes, I definitely do think even a single pair of appropriate shoes is a GREAT investment, whether or not you're going to buy a toe spreader to fix to go with it (provided that your issue isn't severe enough to warrant more than toe spreaders, such as surgery). Remember, toe spreaders and aligning your foot and shape is not an overnight accomplishment. It's going to take a couple of years, at least. For now, I am committed to that. Afterall, I already feel better with my new shoes and toe spreader combined than I did the past 3 months. For one, my bunion pains are at a minimum for the first time in a long time...

A simple comfort I can take anywhere
Excellent in the bath after a long day on my feet. They come in handy during pedicures and at the spa. I also use them when I’m teaching yoga or doing a massage, it improves the biofeedback from my feet and makes me aware of my posture. This is my second pair, had the first for years and they finally gave out. Well worth it to replace.

Awesome! Toes!
Just received these today! I am a female carrying some extra lbs. my foot is wide roughly a size 10 in a wide shoe. I am a critical care nurse 33 years. Painful feet and I have never worn narrow shoes. That being said, I had pain in my Right foit between 3rd and 4 th metatarsal! Morton's Neuroma! Went to a podiatrist and did get 2 injections between those metatarsals with marcaine and a steroid. It alleviates the pain for a time but not an end all. I read up on neurolysis as the next step. DO NOT DO NEUROLYSIS! I did not and to lyse or "kill the nerve" that innervates your toes is just plain stupid! Then you will not only have no feeling in your toes, you will effect the surrounding tissues! As it was I may have created more of an issue due to the volume of the 2 injections as my second toe is encroaching upon my great toe now, not laying flat as it was. All the injections did was give some relief from the pain. Not worth it nor is the ultimate step of cutting out part of the nerve the neuroma surrounds. Again, dead toes and ball of the foot will ensue. Enter in you tube, Morton's Neuroma video's by experts and info on kinesiology tapeing. I will do that as well. Seems to help. As do my Olympus Altra wide toebox athletic shoes. I am on my feet the majority of 12 hours. No pain with those and they have a zero foot drop. Keen boots help for outdoor wear as well. Those run small and narrow if you need a women's size so I just buy the mens as they are wide enough. Awesome toes arrived today! Could not wait! I thought due to my large wide feet, I would need the larger medium size. Wore them a bit but they are initially uncomfortable as your toes and metatarsals are not used to stretching out. I read reviews even though I have chunky toes, I put the smalls on and although a bit uncomfortable still, due to the lack of pliability in my foot, they fit! They were a lot more comfortable that the mediums. So, I will use those and once my toes get used to them I will see how my foot feels and move to the mediums if necessary to stretch more. Awesome toes are pliable and easy ti slip on. I have an old pair of crocs on now with them. I have had them on about 1.5 hours and they are okay still. So, I hope they will last. This is my great hope to fix my foot issues and I wish I knew then, 33 years ago, what I know now! I have lived in athletic shoes forever! Do yourself a favor and try these! Some say the wooden box is overkill but the pricepoint is significantly better than some of the bulkier oprions out there that you would not ever be able to wear in your wide toebox shoes. Much better than the podiatric options of nerve destruction! I may get yoga socks next also. I have researched all of the available options to holistically treat my feet as the medical options are not good and even being in healthcare, the podiatrist was not forthcoming about what the lysis injections would leave me with! Knowledge is power! I will post more over time to let everyone know how these hold up! Should they fall apart then I will continue to seek out alternatives including foot massage or reflexology for my feet next. Just because it is medical does not always mean it is the answer. Take tome and look at all the info you can! I probably should have passed on the injections as I am not a foot expert! Thanks Awesome Toes! I think these will work out great!
