Good Picture Quality- Complex to Set Up
Fairly easy to set up but quite a learning process without any real instructions. A lengthy process to find them on line and print off.The Magic Controller has lots of unusual functions. Detected plugged in items like a Freeview recorder and a DVD player. A coaxial socket enables an aerial lead to be plugged in. Lots more to learn and fiddle with. Good picture and sound. Great value as well.

Excellent tv for the price
I bought this primarily for my PS5 for 120 hz and for my PC using an AMD graphics card for Freesync which it uses Freesync Premium. Using the PS5 for me the picture is excellent using game mode, all the colours look spot on but needs a bit of time to go through all the settings to get it right. It won't let you use Bluetooth headphones while in game mode but to solve that I plugged my headphones into the Dual sense controller. Using the Blu Ray player I could use my Bluetooth headphones while turning off game mode and the best settings for me was Expert Picture mode (bright for light on and dark for light off) and the picture was great and the sound was brilliant, much better than playing the same film through Disney Plus (I watched Star Wars) I also tried WRC9 and having Performance option enabled on PS5 for games (Saved Data and Game/App Settings then Game Presets and Performance Mode or Resolution Mode) it automatically played in 120hz which was great (first time playing more than 60hz) Using my PC I went into Home Dashboard to change it to PC mode (recommended for using a PC) The picture was great in both Game and Cinema picture modes (for playing games and watching films) Going through the settings I turned on Freesync and through the AMD app on my PC I put it onto VRR which worked well while playing games. I did notice that while in Freesync Wide mode even if I had set Instant Game Response to off it kept working so I had to change the option to High to stop it. Using the apps that came with the TV I used Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime. Using Netflix and Disney Plus I noticed that the best Picture Mode was Cinema Home and the picture looked great with Dolby Vision and using Amazon Prime to get the best picture I had to change Picture Mode to Cinema for the best picture. Out of the box I noticed that the picture looked a bit bright so doing some googling for the best picture settings I found the recommended settings from LG which were as follows: For Vivid (natural light) just leave it as it is For Standard: (artificial light) Backlight 80 Contrast 85 Brightness 50 Sharpness 25 Colour 50 Tint 0 For Cinema: (dark room) Backlight 80 Contrast 85 Brightness 50 Sharpness 10 Colour 50 Tint 0 For Cinema Home have it same as Cinema and when you either watch things in Dolby Vision (Netflix and Disney Plus) or HDR 10 (Amazon Prime) if you have set them they should change automatically each time you use each app. I had read other reviews for this TV that wrote a lot about blooming while using the magic control and watching streaming apps and to stop it from happening I just turned local dimming to off and there was no blooming so I'm happy because that was the only thing I read that put me off buying it but thought I'd take a chance anyway. I really like the magic control as it is so easy to use, just wave it around to see the curser on the screen and leave it and it turns itself off. Everything on this TV is fast and responsive and not slow and annoying like another TV I had owned, I really love this TV and I'm happy with my purchase. I bought this TV from a market place seller for £100 cheaper in good as new condition and it seems brand new so I got a great deal.

A great TV hindered by some minor annoying issues
The Good: - Great picture quality, it's crisp and colourful and supports "film maker" and "dolby video" modes if the app has it. - Plenty of options that are easy to manage and configure - Decent sound quality for a TV (still worth getting a soundbar though if you like good audio) - Fast and responsive UI, the only "wait time" is on it's initial boot up, which is acceptable - Good I/O (ports on the back) - The magic remote cursor feature is a life saver ONLY when you've scrolled to the bottom of a list and want to just jump to a different category instead of having to scroll all the way back up. (cough disney+ cough) - The built in LG ThinQ home stuff is actually pretty nice to have. The dashboard is good too. - The AI stuff helps it detect inputs so if you plug in a chromecast and an Xbox it knows what they are and names your inputs for you. It even detects smart features that those devices support and enables them. - The phone app that lets you use it as a tv controller is fast and a good experience to use. The Bad: - The "magic" remote is also a pain in the a** most of the time. You accidentally "wiggle" it when you pick it up which brings up the cursor. Which means it forgets whatever button you last pressed on the UI. (see below) - The remote has NO play/pause/rewind buttons. You have to do everything by clicking the middle "ok" button. So if you need to pause Netflix and accidentally wiggle the remote as mentioned above, you have to spend twice as long trying to line the cursor up with Netflix's small pause icon and then try to press in the really stiff ok button without moving the cursor. - The remote has 3 buttons for voice assistants. 2 of which are pointless. 2 of the buttons are for Google or Alexa. These do nothing even remotely related to Google or Alexa, it just selects which AI you want to use for the voice feature. The third button is the microphone one which opens the voice assistant anyway on a single press OR does all of the work REGARDLESS if you hold it and say something. They could have removed the two voice assistant buttons and put in a pause/play one..... - The voice assistant is also terrible. The AI is good, and the results are alright, but the voice that says "ok, searching for blah on Netflix" is super low budget. LG should have selected either Google or Alexa and just baked it in instead of trying to please everyone. - The TV insists on using "local dimming" which is absolutely beyond garbage. It tries to make darker scenes more interesting but instead it just looks like someone is shining a torch up the screen where the brighter parts are and ruins your film. Turn it off. It's honestly the worst thing about this TV. SUMMARY: Would I buy this TV again? Yes. Would I buy this TV again IF a Samsung one of similar price was on Amazon's pay in 5? No.
