I needed this for a relatively lightweight job. The amount of tension I needed to pull was generated pulling by hand so was well under 100 lbs. of pull. This unit is only rated for 1 ton but for my application, this was way more than enough. I've wanted one of these tools for a while but never wanted to pay the price I see in retail outlets so I was happy to find this one at a fraction of the price. The tools seems well made. I will only use it occasionally but when I need it, nothing else really does the job this does. I can't say how it would hold up to daily commercial or farm type use.

Good quality and works

An absolutely essential tool for installing a backyard, 250' zipline_gear kit. I made all the calculations for selecting an optimum site for a zip line for the Grands. With the hardware in place, grandma and I did our best to pull the line taut. Notagonna happen with the tools provided in the kit. Logically, I then ordered this gripper and a come-along. After their delivery, and in a mater of minutes, we had the line pulled taut and secured. Following our test rides (zips?) we declared the line safe for the Grand's use.

Used to tighten up some 1/2” elevator cable that I used for my zipline. Worked perfectly
