Great for organizing both work and family life
This is my second Hobonichi Techo Cousin. I usually get bored with a planner after a few months, or am annoyed by some feature or another, but this little book is amazing. I have found a use for just about every section in it, and the paper is lovely to write on. I did buy a cover for it since I drag it back and forth to work and my kid's sporting events and the light cover was starting to show some marks.

It feels special
I was so excited to receive this in the mail!!! I’ve wanted one for a very long time! Finally gave in a purchased one despite my hesitation to splurge as it is a little pricey. Absolutely worth it!! The pages are fine almost like tissue paper but durable and ink doesn’t bleed. The think I love most is this planner breaks each month down into monthly, weekly, and daily sections. The grid paper allows for straighter lines in handwriting and sketching. It just feels special. Will buy another in 2022.

I loooove this paper
as soon as i discovered tomoe river paper, especially 52gsm, ive probably spent more money on paper in the last month then id like to admit, which i dont mind, i do however mind spending the money when it shows up damaged, i see im not the only one who has had this problem.

Amazing paper, favorite notebook!
I love and need more day free notebooks and cannot wait for the 2022 one to release. The smoothness of the paper is so satisfying to write on. There's definitely ghosting but in not concerned about that. I only wish the chart and info graphics in the back were in English but I adore everything about this adorable planner!

Didn’t fit
Had to take apart the whole binding to get it to fit into my planner. Had to punch my own holes looks messy.

Well I thought this was gonna be more thicker, then what is. I've boughten one before it was a bit different also. Each month then the weekend mon-sun, with an about each week schedule also. But this wasn't it.

Nice diary
I brought this because I left it too late to buy the 2021 Hobonichi cousin. I wanted to retire the filofax set up I have. I wanted to try out the cousin because I had purchased the Weeks and liked it a lot. I saw one left in stock of the Avec and brought it on the basis that it was better than nothing. I am pleased with the diary and it is good for this year especially as we are in lockdown so wont need the agenda diary much. I am able to write all i need, as well as add photos in the diary. It is expensive but I am happy to pay the price because it is nice.

Nice layout, great paper, but very overpriced for what it is
Cover/binding - the cover is made of thick card. It is sturdy but I will definitely be getting a cover because I can see that the corners are going to be vulnerable to wear. The binding seems sturdy but you can't open it completely flat. I am sure it will flatten out with encouragement but I don't want to ruin the spine. The layout - there are monthly grids and there is plenty of room to write in the boxes. The majority of the planner is full of squared paper. There are a few pages with things such as timetables or favourites lists on them. There are English translations for all the essential parts of the planner. The only Japanese that is not translated is the quotation on the bottom of each page. The paper - I love Hobonichi's paper. It is very thin but seems of similar quality to the paper in many notebooks on the market. You do get some show-through but I have experienced that with thicker paper too. If you really don't like show-through you may want to look elsewhere but I happy to put up with a bit of show-through if it means having a much thinner/lighter notebook. I love the squared paper as it is perfect for journaling or making lists. Conclusion - I do like this planner as I like the idea of having monthly grids and then blank paper. I am using this as a journal and it is perfect for what I want as I don't write every day so I don't need daily pages. This is definitely overpriced though. I really think they should have included some extra blank pages as it is a lot thinner than the Techo/Cousin but is still expensive. I probably wouldn't buy it again. Instead, I would probably buy the Stalogy 365 and draw out my own monthly grids or possibly buy the Cousin. I will enjoy using it this year though.

Perfect Diary
This cousin version is perfect as it has monthly, weekly and daily pages to write down your goals, to-do’s, appointments, etc. The paper is smooth, beautiful to write on. I personally prefer this one to the small original one. Yes, it is pricey but it is so worth it!! Highly recommend.

欲しかった!
デイフリーが欲しくて購入しました。日付があると義務感を感じてしまい、続かなくなってしまったのでデイフリーにして好きな時に書けて空白のページもないためストレスフリーになって良かったです😊

A classic
This was my first Hobonichi and still a favourite. This year I'm using it as a study journal because I wanted to keep all my academic reading and tasks separate from my main planner just to have everything in one place for easier reference. It's an excellent notebook that adapts to many uses, including journaling. It's excellent as a general planner and takes a range of inks and pens very well. I use fountain pens. I was given the English version as a gift one year, but I prefer the Original (Japanese); it has a smaller grid and the check boxes on top of the daily pages are very functional. Highly recommend. If you like the A6 size but also want the weekly layout offered in the Cousin (A5), you can buy a separate weekly supplement that is designed to slide into the Hobonichi covers.
