It does offer relief
I've only uses it for a few days but it's bananas how normal my lungs feel after using it. Very surprised. I use this a few times a day and I do in fact get relief. Update...using it for about a week and holy molly, big difference. I actually use it while lying down. I put my hand on my belly to make sure it rises on the inhale, you have to breath from your diaphragm and not your chest. Very important. I dont time my inhale and exhale, I just inhale and exhale deeply. Most will advise that you do this seated upright but I find it more effective to ensure I'm using my diaphragm by lying down. This is pretty bananas that it has been so effective. I find myself using this multiple times a day and I feel immediate relief after using it. I really hope this helps folks breath easier. Good luck!!!!!

Thank you so much!
This helped me build my lung strength and lung capacity back up. Before this device, everything made me feel winded due to damage previous illnesses caused to my lungs. Now I can breathe normally. I also ordered a 2nd one for my aunt and it helped her a lot as well! This product is great and does exactly what it says - it builds your lung strength! Community Guidelines forced me to edit my review to be less specific about my experience, so I will just say again that the product works great!

The Breather is a great Idea!!! Love it! Great for health! Could be sturdier...
I did a lot of research on respiratory training devices for hypertension, shortness of breath when exercising, blood oxygen level and general health (all of which are big issues for me). Ended up choosing The Breather. Ordered it on Amazon a few days ago and received it a couple of days ago. Used it once and found that there was now a seam between the top and bottom halves. They were still connected but was a gap between them. Turns out I am able to use it anyway (though am a bit nervous about doing so). Have updated my rating to reflect that it is still useable. Giving 4 stars and not 5 because it doesn't seem very sturdy. However, I really like the design - especially the ease of use and the fact that it's for expiratory as well as inspiratory training, the links to studies on the website documenting the benefits (in the footnotes), the excellent and helpful training videos (have watched the Foundational Protocol video several times), the reviews citing health improvements in areas I am hoping to improve, etc. Am hoping that it will make a big difference in my health. Have actually ordered more of them in case this one stops being usable and so I have backups. Also love that it was created by a female therapist and the people in the training videos were women. Loved that they mentioned this is a tool used by speech language pathologists (my sister is a SLP). Am retiring soon and want to get started on improving my health now so I can really enjoy my life after retirement! Very happy to have discovered this and am really hoping the 2 additional units I purchased work (and are a bit sturdier...).

Attention panic attack sufferers
Yes, this simple tool is remarkably effective for training proper breathing and for strengthening lungs. It’s easy to use anywhere, anytime and it fits into a pocket or a purse so it can always be available. But I’ve discovered it’s also a godsend when in midst of a panic attack. Highly recommend.

Device is good; app is horrible and annoying
Been using daily for about 8 months (though the app wouldn't know). I set it almost at the highest level (more resistance) and use the "Endurance" training plan - 30 breaths morning and evening with one day off per week. Overall, I've found the device to be helpful and I keep it right on my desk which encourages consistency. The app (iphone for me) is very balky. Every time I tap on the app icon it's an adventure. Sometimes it simply freezes at the main screen. Other times it will incorrectly show that I'm on a day off and it might stay that way for a week and/or until I change the training plan and start over. I've deleted and reinstalled the app but that hasn't helped. Perhaps most annoying is that when the app is (frequently) malfunctioning, I get emails asking me whether I'm okay and why I'm not being consistent in my training! In fact, I'm being very consistent with my training. The app really isn't much more than a stopwatch with a voice saying "inhale" and "exhale" so I have to wonder why it's so screwed up. I was able to contact the Help desk once early on after purchase, but not since. Easy to imagine they're overwhelmed! I would say that about half the time I simply use my phone's stopwatch and count the breaths. Not great for tracking my training but helpful for holding down the frustration and my blood pressure! I believe helped with my sleep apnea and anxiety
I think it helped with my sleep apnea, as well as my anxiety oddly, because it trains me to use more of my diaphragm especially when I breath in. I’m about to buy a second one just to encourage myself to use it often.

Just Breathe
I have added this to my daily routine just as much as if I was to brush my teeth or work out. Very good product years of good quality and I will continue to use it.
