I have looking for the ideal means to polish bronze. This, along with the proper polishing medium, has been perfect to the task

Folks have probably had luck with these to polish aluminum. However, don't try to polish stainless steel unless it is just to bring back a shine that was already there. I was trying to take stainless from a mill finish to a mirror finish. I suppose if the part were small it would be possible. The problem is the part I need to polish is about 6 sqft. I thought is might be possible to do this project with my rt-angle grinder, but it would have taken FOREVER. I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger on a 7" buffer and got three 8' buffing wheel (each with a different stiffness) with the associated rouge bars. By doing only a small area at a time, the stainless was kept warm (by the friction of the buffer wheels). This warmth yielded faster results. Run thru all 3 buffer wheels on the same small area.

For polishing metals with the use of a cutting rouge, these work quite well. Considering the cost, these are hard to beat. I highly recommend these felt wheels. 😄
