This car is well packaged and well made. The tyres are soft rubber and there is spring suspension at the front - but not the rear. The wing mirrors are made of a soft silicone-like material which will be difficult to damage! I was mildly surprised that none of the lights illuminate The model is well packaged in its box with two large plastic fasteners to be removed before use. These are just twisted with the fingers to remove - no tools required. The remote control is held in place with one similar but smaller fastener. A cross head screwdriver will be required to remove this one. The car operates using three AA cells and a further two are required for the remote. Neither the remote nor the car have safety screws for the battery compartment, although there is a plastic lock on the remote and the battery compartment on the car cannot be opened after the on/off switch is set to 'on'. The car runs at a scale speed, although there is no facility to vary it dynamically. Both forward / back control and steering direction are binary - in other words full on or off. There is no intermediate setting for either. This means that minor direction changes have to be achieved by tapping the steering buttons. This is a sturdy and desirable toy which got a thumbs-up from my six year old tester.
