Great watch. Typical legendary Casio watch
Main reason I got this model is the MIP display which is easy to read vs. Casio's LED display. Also, very easy to use. Legendary for its durability and performance. Love the watch and most importantly, for these 54 yr old eyes, can see display w/o readers.

Great watch with many features
I love this watch. I use it for surfing and it is holding up good. The face is very easy to read everything. You can put it on airplane mode. I am very happy with this purchase.

Fantastic watch
This is by far one of my favorite watches, from the tide table to the G-shock app and the negative illumination it’s a great value!

Pretty Good Quasi Smart Watch
I have had a lot of Casio watches and generally love them. This one has a lot to recommend it, particularly if you are a bit skeptical of the whole "smart watch" idea. Good things: (1) Reasonably accurate step counter. I've compared this to my wife's smart watch when we have both been doing the same activity and her steps and mine tend to track very closely. I don't think any of these things are perfectly accurate, but the algorithm and sensors in this seem to perform about as well as in more expensive smart watches. In other words, it works well enough for what you actually care about, a rough estimate of how active you've been. (2) Two-year battery. I have enough things in my life that need constant charging already, I like that the watch just takes a standard lithium battery that only has to be changed about once every two years. Maybe it only lasts a year, maybe it lasts 18 months, but whatever, it doesn't need to be charged every few days. (3) Bluetooth notifications. It synchronizes to your smart phone over Bluetooth and vibrates when you get an alert. There is no customization, if your phone gets an alert, it buzzes. But I've already gone through my applications on the phone and turned off all the dumb alerts I don't care about, meaning it only vibrates because I've gotten a text etc. So you can use it to vibrate and let you know you need to check your phone but only if you first configure your phone notifications to eliminate the useless ones. (4) Comfortable Band - This is a better quality strap than what you expect from a relatively inexpensive Casio watch. It is soft and pliable. (5) G-Shock Tough - I haven't abused it yet, but it is typical G-Shock stuff, unlikely to die even if treated roughly. I am a big dude who can carry off a bigger watch without looking stupid, but I would rate this as sort of medium+ size. In other words it might be a problem for very small/thin guys, but if you are of average/normal size, it likely isn't going to look stupidly huge on you. Dislikes: (1) Negative display. I bought this figuring that the size of the display would compensate for the fact that negative displays are inherently harder to read. It does, but only sort of. When you have it showing just the time and the time is huge, you can generally still read it in light shade or shadow, but if you want to look at anything else, it becomes difficult to do without hitting the light button, there is just not enough contrast for the small text. So if you are used to having a regular display, you will find yourself using the light a lot more often than you are used to. Basically, you need at least some direct light on the watch face to be able to read anything but the time, and that turns out to be less available than you expect it to be in the real world. There is a setting that automatically lights up the display briefly when the accelerometer detects that you are probably trying to look at the watch, which is essentially an admission that the watch is hard to read without the backlight frequently. (2) No large step counter display. The single screen that shows your steps is poorly designed, with too much information displayed at one time. It has a little bar graph showing whether you've hit your programmed goal for each of the last seven days. Then it shows your steps in very small numbers and it shows the time and the date. That seems nice, except go back to point (1) which is that it can be difficult to read small text on the negative display in poor light. Probably 90 times out of 100 when I look at my watch, I don't need to know how far I walked last Tuesday, I just want to know either my steps for that day or the time, and so there should be a second screen which has just that information in larger print. I do like the design of the weekly tracking screen, but it shouldn't be the only way to display that information. I haven't tried to use the advanced activity tracking features and I probably never will. I just wanted a durable watch to track my steps and this is a much more cost effective way to get that than buying a smart watch. If, like me, you have never had a negative display watch before, realize that they do take some getting used to.

Durable functional watch
This watch replaced an older Garmin Forerunner I had that finally quit after it was lightly submerged in water. I mainly purchased for the durable construction, especially with water as I travel and do some ocean swimming. The moon phase and tides are great as well for fishing (I don’t surf). Im also an avid gym member and the steps ans active part is good. It’s a big bigger in size but looks good. I can’t speak to battery life and overall the cost is about par for the course with these features. Oh and the Bluetooth connection is nice as well. It made set up a little easier. Only con is that the buttons require a bit of pressure to use and the settings on the watch are more difficult. Definitely use the Casio apps.

G-shock plus tides
I have had a few G-shocks over the years. When I found this one I was thrilled. I use it for the tide schedule for surfing with my kids. I have to take them in the water as they are young so scheduling our beach days around the tides is extremely helpful. It count steps as well which was a plus.
