Surgilube Lubricating Jelly - Sterile - 4.25 Oz Tube - by Fougera

The sterile gel is the perfect consistency for my needs, and the quality has always been reliable.

I ordered this to lubricate piercing needles to re pierce four holes in my earlobes. Firstly, it’s a huge tube so you will have a bunch left over. The tube reminds the user to sterilize their hands and outside of tube before using, otherwise the sterility is compromised. I did this, then squeezed out a bunch on a sterile cotton pad. I would then dip a new needle into it each time, so there was no cross contamination. The leftover jelly was thrown away. Initially I forgot to use the jelly on my first hole, and the needle wouldn’t really move through the ear. The remaining three were a breeze. I am so glad I read someone else’s comment about needing sterile lubricating jelly for the process otherwise I would have been lost and it would be way more painful!

I order this for my Mom. She has to do self catheterization she stated it allows the catheter to slide easily. Anything to make her life easier.

I ordered the screw top and got the flip top. That seems trivial, but the screw top is a metal tube that I can roll up. That is convenient. Otherwise, this enables an enema to be less uncomfortable.

Thought I was getting a flip top, but it was a screw on top. But that's ok. A little thicker gel I thought, too. Stays on where I put it. First time i have used this brand. Very good. Thicker than k-y. Different feel. Used with stainless steel sounds.

I use it with catheters because it allows the catheter to slide easily all the way to my bladder. It is also sterile and prevents possible urinary infections. Wash hands before using.
