I'm very picky when it comes to headphones, they have to be perfect and these definitely are!! They're great for listening to music or audiobooks. The noise cancelling is spot on, absolutely no background noise and no leaking of sound. They're comfortable enough to be worn for a long time and they fit over my ears perfectly. Bluetooth couldn't be any easier to connect it found my iPhone and kindle within seconds plus you can connect 2 devices at the same time, so if I'm listening to an audiobook on my kindle I won't miss any calls as my phone can be connected as well. They came in a good quality case which is so much more practical and safer than the bags some headphones come with. The battery lasts a long time sometimes I charge them once a week but can go longer. I really love these headphones, they're comfortable, good quality and the sound is perfection. I would highly recommend these and I'll absolutely be sticking with Sony from now on

I upgraded to this model from the original MDR-1000X which I had for a few years. I have now had them for over a year (purchased in April 2021) and I must say that they are worth their weight in gold (ok not quite). Even now in 2022 (almost 2023 now) with the newest version (XM5) out I believe at around £250 are well worth you money. They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time and the battery will last for 20+ hours (Sony claims 30, but that depends on volume and other factors) and of course you can still use them wired if you have no battery left (battery is mainly for noise cancelling) or to get Lossless quality from Apple Music (or others, just not Spotify). The main reasons I upgraded to this was because you can now have two different Bluetooth (BT) connections at once, meaning you don't need to fiddle with settings when switching from iPhone to iPad. Noise cancellation is in my humble opinion superior to that of the Bose NC700 and the bass is punchy yet not too overpowering (some will say is too strong but I don't). The second reason is USB-C, although the XM3 also have USB-C, paired with the dual connection, these two features made me upgrade. Sony offers a bunch more options but the majority of them I find are simply gimmicks nevertheless you can try them and if you enjoy them have them on. I will keep them off though. Touch sensitive pad on the right ear cup serves as volume up/down, next/previous and play button, very nicely done. Another thing I like is that the headphones will stop playing when you take them off your [left] ear, you can also cover the right ear cup with your hand and the headphones will turn on the mics to let in audio from the outside, I just take them off when I need to talk to someone but again try it ad decide. Travelling, now this is possible the main reason you want these headphones, and they are fantastic at it. In my last flight I had a crying baby a few rows down mine and having these with me made it a much more bearable experience. Little tip hear, optimise the headphones overtime you change your environment by pressing and holding the CUSTOM button, and pair it with some white noise (20%) from your iPhone (I like rain) and you'll be in for a perfect flight. Overall these headphones would be my choice if I had to buy a new pair in 2022/2023 since the new XM5 are about £100 more and I don't believe they offer you that much improvement over the XM4s (value for money). It's hard to believe but these WH-1000XM4 headphones have been on sale for about five years now. There are now two models newer than this, imaginatively named the XM5 and the XM6 both of which offer improvements on this XM4 model. But these XM4s are amazing quality and at the moment about half the price of the newest XM6 model. The active noise cancelling of the XM4 headphones is very good. I often travel on the train with these and they are great at deadening the outside noise of the train (and are especially good at quietening diesel trains!). But they also significantly quieten those annoying travellers who have to share their music, loud comedy clips and telephone calls with everybody else! It keeps you sane when travelling and allows you to listen to your music or movies in great quality. I am particularly impressed with their bass capabilities which underpin a great depth and richness of sound. These headphones can be managed through Sony’s Sound Connect app which gives you quite a degree of control over the various features of the XM4s, in particular the ability to change the noise management according to the environment. The battery life of the XM4s is very good, stated in the literature at about 30 hours which seems about right to me. The call quality of these headphones is good, both in terms of the pickup from the microphone and the audibility of the caller in noisy environments. I understand that the XM5 and XM6 both have superior microphone and noise cancelling but this obviously comes at a greater cost than the XM4 which I find very much suits my needs. There are many technical explanations of the attributes and differences between these various models on the internet and it is clear from those that the latest XM6 model is technically improved in various ways. But if you are on a budget, as I was when I bought these, I think that the XM4 headphones are fantastically good value for money. I’m really pleased with them and give them top marks. If you want to get a pair, now would be a good time as it’s hard to imagine that they will be around for very much longer when there are two newer models available.

Le casque Sony WH1000XM4 est, et reste un excellent rapport qualité prix. Le son est très bon, mais je vous conseille de passer par l'application et l'equalizer pour rendre le son encore meilleur. Si votre appareil est compatible LDAC c'est encore mieux la différence s'entend en test vs le teléphone de ma copine. Pour l'autonomie, elle est juste dingue, plusieurs jours d'utilisation pour une recharge. Pour la réduction du bruit ambiant : La réduction passive est déjà très bonne avec les coussinets qui atténuent bien le son extérieur. L'active elle, est impressionnante : Train, Avion, rue vous n'entendrez plus rien autour de vous, parfait pour ceux qui ont besoin de se détendre ou travailler dans des environnements sonores. Le casque est agréable à porter, même plusieurs heures de suite Seul point que je pense perfectible sont la qualité des appels qui je pense peut être un peu améliorer mais cela reste un excellent case et cela ne change pas la note de 5 étoiles

El primero es la app para móviles, que no termina de convencerme: para ajustar ciertos parámetros tienes que estar entrando constantemente en ella, y se hace un poco engorroso. El segundo es el micrófono, que deja bastante que desear. Para llamadas, audios o videoconferencias la calidad no es muy buena y no se escucha demasiado allá, especialmente comparado con lo bien que rinden en el resto de aspectos. Por lo demás, un 10: gran sonido, comodidad y una cancelación de ruido que sigue siendo de las mejores del mercado. Una compra que rara vez decepciona.
