first time a benzoyl peroxide product worked for me
I've had acne for over a decade. Most benzoyl peroxide products that I've bought from the store have dried and flaked off my face within minutes, being completely ineffective. This is the first product I've used that properly absorbs and has an effect on it. For once in my life, my acne is actually clearing consistently. This product may be called a lotion but it does NOT moisturize or soften your skin. It's not for that. Lotion is more of a texture description. It is a very light gel-ish texture that quickly absorbs into the skin. The only word of warning is that you should not let it get too close to your eyes. If it gets too close to your lower eyelid, it can be irritating to that thinner skin. If you find that this product irritates your face as a whole, you can try leaving it on for 10 minutes and then rinsing your face. Because most of benzoyl peroxide effect happens within the first 10 minutes anyways for most of these products. But I have no problem with it and don't rinse it off.

Amazing Lotion. Doesn't overdry and gets the job done.
I bought this because I was sick of buying three piece sets just to use the lotion out of them. I have had moderate acne in my late 20's and have recently started reading more into what causes my problems. I would often have cystic acne which was painful and unsightly. After learning that I was likely washing my face too much (only twice a day) which was causing my dry skin and then over production of oils, I decided to make a change to my regime. I started slowly shifting into not washing my face and rather just rinsing it in the shower breifly in the morning and before going to bed at night. At the same time I shifted to only using Benzoyl Peroxide lotion for my Acne prevention along with cetaphil lotion for when my face was really dry. After buying set after set after set of 3 piece combos I decided it was time to research into buying just the lotion which is kindof hard to find for some reason. Anyways I came upon this lotion and read some good reviews and pulled the trigger on it and haven't looked back. The lotion is 2.5% compared with the 10% I was using and I have to say the results are outstanding (my face isn't dried out and it feels "normal") After using this for around 3-4 weeks I no longer get cystic acne, my face isn't dried out, my eyebrows aren't bleached (bad experience with Target 3 piece kit), and I finally am no longer embarrassed to go out in public. One of the best parts about switching my regime was that I no longer feel like I need to wash my face throughout the day as my face is no longer oily. The lotion itself goes on smooth and absorbed within a half a minute after applying. I don't normally go out of my way to write a review but I was reluctant to buy this because I wasn't sure of what results I would get and I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Song's is the real deal, I highly recommend this product as I will be a repeat customer for sure.

Super Simple, Super Cheap, Super Effective
I bought this product about 10 months ago to treat my two-year-old's molescum (her dermatologist recommended a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide solution). I chose this over the tiny tube from Neutrogena because you could get this huge bottle for nearly the same price. This product was pretty effective in getting rid of the molescum, and I still had a ton left over, so I decided to use it when I ran out of my own benzoyl peroxide treatment (I use it for acne on my face and body). I was and am really pleased with the results. I'm well researched in effective acne treatments as well as skin care regimens that are scientifically proven vs. hyped by the cosmetic and skincare industry. The only proven effective acne treatment regimen is: 1. Cleanse (really any gentle cleanser will do. it does not need to contain any active ingredients...that's just hype. it all gets rinsed off your face) 2. Exfoliate (with a pore-penetrating, BHA exfoliant, such as salicylic acid. NOT a physical scrub exfoliant) 3. Apply antibacterial agent, such as benzoyl peroxide, to the entire face / effected area (not spot treating) This is the "magic" of any three step acne regimen like Proactive and Acne.org, which for some reason I see a lot of references to in the negative reviews for this product. As far as Dr. Song goes, this product is super simple. It's just the antibacterial agent in a good acne regimen, and it doesn't have any inflamming ingredients. It worked really well for me to reduce breakouts on both my face and body *when used in the regimen described above.* And it didn't cause any inflammation. I have extremely sensitive, middle-aged acne-prone skin...occasional cystic acne, which this product was also effective in preventing. And it's an ENORMOUS bottle that lasts forever. My first bottle is 10 months old, and I've probably got a quarter bottle left, and it's still working. I don't know the shelf life for Benzoyl Peroxide, but I'd guess it's at least one year if it's properly stored. I tend to use products until they stop being effective and don't pay attention to expiration dates anyway.

Decent gel, terrible bottle
This product has worked very well to clear up small blemishes without drying out my skin. The gel is a nice consistency but does leave white streaks on the skin if not spread thinly enough. The pump breaks within a few days of use, having to open the bottle can get messy. When the bottle is mostly empty the pump is useless, you'll have to open the bottle and scrape around to extract those last couple weeks worth of gel. As of writing this review they have changed the pump on the bottles, I will update this review as to their quality after a few weeks of use or until it breaks. Pros: - Works well to treat acne - Does not dry out sensitive skin - Reasonable price and amount Cons: - Terrible (old) pump - Gel streaks when drying - Large amount of gel left in the bottle
