vw beetle engine

A well designed and presented construction kit. It entertained me for hours, the instructions were clear and easy to follow in the impressive hand book that is included in the box. Overall a great purchase but at the top end for pricing.

This was a present for my partner. He loved making it and said it was high quality. I was impressed by the vendor. Delivered the next day - in time for Christmas- at a time of postal strikes. Fantastic

Very well detailed model clear and easy to follow instructions as long as u read the instructions and build it slowly and don't rush it will be fine also the book that comes with it is awesome too

This was bought for my husband as an anniversary gift and major best wife points, we have a 59 beetle and a splitscreen van so this was a fitting gift It is exactly the same engine and to see it running is awesome. Went to order this from the official site Based in Koln but said would take 3 weeks to ship and was £40 more expensive so took a punt and checked if a available on amazon and thankfully it was but was amazing to see it left the same base as official German base but delivered in 48 hours & cheaper! If you are looking for that gift for a young budding mechanic or a husband who thinks he is then this is perfect, even I now have a better understanding of how the engine works and was even impressed with a real miniature head gasket. Perfect gift!

Great idea however Not worth the money very disappointed. Cheap plastic and the engine noises are pitiful. Gutted I wasted so much money on something that had so much potential. Looks cheap and tacky when built and sounds the same.

This model is pricey, so I sat on it for at least 6 months before buying ... I am so glad I did! The build and instructions were excellent! Everything fit together perfectly! I love that the entire thing either snaps together or uses tiny screws to build (no glue needed!!). The finished product is much cooler than pictures can convey. I did see one bad review from an "engineer that reads instructions" claiming the engine does not move. During the build, you use "locking tools" to immobilize the engine while you build it - this is necessary to get the timing right on gears and shafts. If he actually read the instructions and finished the model, he would have discovered that those tools are later removed (pages 89 and 92), and THEN the engine moves. This is so worth the money - what an excellent model that fit together perfectly! Minor nits: engine motion does not match recorded engine noise, the engine motion is very slow, and the recorded idle is fast (so it comes off wrong and a bit cheesy). The sound quality is embarrassingly bad. Aside from those two things that don't really matter, it is awesome. I love that the included screwdriver was magnetic - perfect for those tiny screws!

Looks good Loved how I had to put everything together And when it's done it's a cool thing to lool at Only thing was, I like keeping the box and put it on it or just hold it with the "toy", that it came with a pinched hole in the back of the box And it looked like if the box was opened up, tape looked like it was placed back on the outside of the box
