This is one of the few surge protectors I’ve found that will work with single phase 220 volts.I use it on my large woodturning lathe for a bit of added protection. A voltage surge can damage the expensive VFD converter large lathes use to allow 220v single phase power to operate a 220v 3-phase motor with speed and direction control.While nothing may stop the extreme surge caused by a lightning strike, this provides some additional protection. (It’s best to unplug large expensive equipment with vulnerable electronic circuits when a storm approaches and when you leave the shop.)

In three days time after the purchase of this device, has proven itself by protecting our refrigerator from power surge when power was abruptly interrupted by an unexpected outage and turned the power back on and YES it works.

Ordered for our golf carts one of which suffered a lightening surge prior to buying this. No issues since. Good value for peace of mind.

The prongs on this device are completely different than what the outlet is for an American 220 volt outlet.It appears to be designed for another country's outlets, not the United States.
