Well it all started out just like any other day a tired mother awaits a package, this my friends is where the adventure origin begins.....the amazon package, you watch as the wife bolts to the door becuase this package is arriving 5 minutes before the esteemed husband arrives whom is slightly obsessed with DND........(rolls for Deception and fails) ok hes got a problem, however it is really easy to get him birthday presents and this my friends is exactly where the mothers tale lay and wait just like this present, sitting in a corner of his shelf nestled in a goblin encampment awaiting for their leader the mighty.......(crap what was his class again?! halfling bard?????) ok well go with the MIGHTY HALFLING BARD destroying his villains one song at a time. When the esteemed BARD arrives he gives the mother a devilish smile unaware of the trick she is about to play, or my friends....is this a treat? He opens the package to find a very fanciful treasure box and the light leaves his eyes the mother rolls for deception again and this time she succeeds "My dear" she slyly blurts out "I feel this beautiful chest will hold your dice quite nicely" he nods his head and begins to place it on his shelf "maybe i can get a ship or something to place next to it" he depressingly responds disregarding the mothers smirk "why not open it my love there may be something inside" the husband ceases movement as curiosity engulfs his face "oh yeah?" he says rather curiously, meanwhile the mother's anticipation burrows itself underneath her stone cold poker face, once the husband finds the beautiful skeleton key he places it in the lock excited to see the gift awaiting him alas the treasure box is opened and the mother calls out " i now need you to roll for initiative" he smirks and rolls succeeding and defeating the mother and the mimic.....look my husband plays alot and i have to listen to the stories which are actually quite good lol but as stated above i made him roll for initiative and now he has claimed the mimic to hold all of his dice, he currently has about 5 sets in there with room for a couple more, when he runs out well ill go on another adventure lol its a great replica and my husband loved it, i would gladly buy it again but i may just buy him a collection of replicas that hold dice ill be looking at this seller for those needs because the shipping was fast and the package was secured rather nicely so trust me when i say i was appreciative :)

Perfect in every way. The latch fits perfectly. It looks amazing.

Got this as a wedding gift for a friend who plays DND. They loved it and have been bringing it to seasons. Awesome detail and holds a load of dice!

It's amazing! The only done side was that the screws weren't all the way in. So when I went to tighten them they broke. So I had to glue them.

The paint was poorly done, I had to re do it and the latch broke the very first time I opened it. Lost the piece, so even thought we bought the more expensive one, we cannot lock it.

The faux wood work and painting are very good, but the hinges and latch are lazy at best. One hinge has far too much give, and the other leaves a clear gap on it's side. Combined, this gives me a feeling that it is going to snap. One screw has dried glue coming from it. I think they might have broken the box and glued it in. Even wise is the top of the latch. It has pulled right out off the box in a very visible way. No effort was made to actually shape the metal, so that screw was likely under constant pressure. If it hadn't pulled out in shipping, it would have eventually. Someone should have figured this out in the assembly process. Overall, this is not going to cut it for me. None of the screws are in straight, the hinges feel like a break waiting to happen, and the latch ruins the look. Still three stars because the paint job is good.

Great item to hold your dnd coins and dice. Very well crafted and packaged. The only negative is the inside bottom of the mimic has groves that your dice fall into and are hard to get out without dumping the dice out.
