Pretty Tasty for Non-Dairy
For a non-dairy protein, this actually isn’t bad. I’ve tried a couple pea proteins and couldn’t even get two sips down. This one still has *some* of that pea protein chalkiness, but I honestly think that’s just unavoidable. The chocolate flavor has a nutty, bready taste to me because of the nuts and brown rice protein, which is quite tasty as a little protein-filled treat. I’m not a huge sweets person, so to me this powder tastes quite sweet despite the minimal amount of added sugar. Again, though, I don’t mind. I actually look forward to having it as a post-workout, post-dinner dessert. I drink it just mixed with unsweetened soy milk. Overall, it doesn’t go down quite as smooth as the Naked Whey chocolate protein (my favorite powder before I went non-dairy), but it’s the best non/dairy powder I’ve tried thus far.

Great taste and NO STEVIA
I've tried a handful of protein powders, and *none* of them have tasted right to me. The ones with whey or other animal products invariably taste chalky or otherwise funky. The vegan ones, meantime, almost always have stevia (including some of the other Orgain powders). I hate -- I cannot emphasize this enough, HATE -- stevia because it imparts an artificial sweetener aftertaste (think Diet Coke, but worse and more clingy) to everything it's in. It doesn't matter what you put in it, be it berries, bananas, peanut butter, or what kind of liquid you use. It ruins everything it touches. Okay, rant over. So the cool thing here is that you get all the benefits of a vegan protein powder but no stevia and a relatively low sugar content. I use whole milk, and my wife uses unsweetened almond milk. It tastes good with either. My preferred blend is either bananas or frozen berries, two scoops of PB unsweetened peanut butter powder, a scoop of cocoa powder, and a scoop of the Orgain, and it tastes amazing (for whatever reason, it turns out thicker with the frozen fruit than it does with a comparable amount of bananas -- I don't know what kind of witchcraft they've got going on, but there you go). It's really tasty, holds me until lunch (roughly four hours), and keeps my energy level on an even keel. You can go with two scoops if you want more protein and/or a richer taste. I use the cocoa to bump up the chocolate flavor without adding more sugar, but this takes add-ins pretty well (I also use a handful of wheat germ occasionally). If they ever stop making this, I'm going to be one unhappy camper!

Can’t do coconut sugar
I so wanted to love this. I’ve been using earth chimp unflavored for months. I add it to oatmilk, add some cane sugar (alternative sweeteners hurt my head! Even monk fruit) and cocoa powder and 3 shots of espresso and pour over ice. I love the earth chimp, but it’s not very smooth, clumps easily. This one has coconut sugar which I’ve never had, so thought I’d try it. Nope, turns out coconut sugar does the same thing to me! Instant headache and bad aftertaste. BUT - the powder itself is so smooth! No clumps. Great flavor. Way smoother than my earth chimp. I also like that it has 6 sources of protein. I want to love it so bad but can’t deal with the coconut sugar. If they made this in an unsweetened version, or with cane sugar, I’d be sold for life. If you can tolerate alternative sweeteners, you’ll love this!

Rich Taste, Clean Ingredients: Orgain Organic Simple Chocolate Protein Powder
My partner, a fellow vegan protein shake enthusiast, recently gave Orgain Organic Simple Chocolate a try, and we both have some thoughts to share! Here's the breakdown: Taste: (4 out of 5 stars) This one surprised us! We expected a more basic chocolate flavor, but it actually has a richer taste than some other vegan protein powders we've tried. It's not overly sweet, which is a big plus, but it does have a satisfying cocoa flavor. Mixability: (5 out of 5 stars) Huge win here! It blended perfectly with his favorite chocolate oat milk - no clumps, no weird texture, just smooth and delicious. Ingredients: (5 out of 5 stars) This is what really sets this powder apart! Simple, organic ingredients you can actually pronounce. No artificial sweeteners like stevia (which gives him headaches), just pure, clean protein. Overall: (4.5 out of 5 stars) This is a fantastic protein powder option for vegans. It delivers a good dose of protein without any of the artificial junk. The taste is great, especially with a little creativity (see tip below!), and it mixes perfectly. Would recommend to: Vegans looking for a clean, high-quality protein powder with a rich chocolate taste and easy mixability. Tip: We found that adding a scoop of peanut butter and a tiny drizzle of chocolate syrup or honey really elevates the flavor profile. It adds a touch of sweetness and creaminess without compromising the clean ingredients. Hope this review helps!

Disappointed
I could hardly gag this down-even after mixing it well in a blender. I bought 3 of these on Black Friday.i tried one of them and could hardly drink it. The texture and smell is very unappealing, and I’m usually not that picky. I only had opened one container but I still was unable to return the other two containers-please note these aren’t eligible for return! I was not aware and I have no way to contact the company. I’m pretty disappointed. I figured I’d just try to stomach it but I don’t know if I can. They will probably go to waste. On paper this looks like a great product but if you purchase try on before you get more-there many good reviews honestly baffle me

Product I have been waiting for!!
Yummmm!! OK so I have probably tried 20 protein powders in my lifetime--or more. And they all taste gross!! But this tastes so clean and natural and does not have the artificial sugar which just never sits right for me alongside a big batch of protein. I got the chocolate flavor and mixed with coconut milk and yummmm!! Totally drinkable... And dare I say, tasty? Also love that the ingredients are organic and that it has 40% daily iron and only 3g of fiber so it doesnt make my stomach cramp. This is just the product I have been waiting for. If you are on the fence-go for it!! Just beware it contains nuts if you are allergic.
