Magicmend Connector 2" Schedule 40 Pvc

This thing saved my ass when there was no room to make any other repair. I would have had to cut back and remove several valves and about half my equipment install to replace a bad union hub. This piece did just the job I needed.

With bath tubs being replaced by showers, the installation of the showers drains, often on existing homes, can only be done from above, with little or zero access from below. The aligning of the drain of the shower base into a 2” PVC drain or P-trap can be difficult due to unavailability of pipe piece to fit “inside” the P-Trap through the shower base’s drain. This piece is the exact item that, being unavailable anywhere else, saves the day, and the shower. Thank you Amazon and Magic mend - thank you very much! For those interested, I had used a Tile Redi Shower base, as my shower’s base, the drain of which fit “onto” a 2” pvc pipe. Despite my best efforts, the reach of that 2” pipe into the Base’s drain was short by about 3/8ths of an inch. I was able to fit this attachment into the shower’s base through to the 2” pvc pipe, thereby overcoming the 3/8ths inch shortened pipe - allowing me to rest easily about any future leaks. I hope this helps those using the Tile Redi base - and who have access to the drain only from above.

This was not a tapered force fit the way way most PVC fittings are. The finish was good, with no die mold scruff. I used a heavy bodied cement and had no issues. My repair was for a shower drain, so there was no pressurization. Perhaps this kind of fitment is normal for this type of connector, but I havent seen it before.

This is an “inside” coupler for a pipe that inside of it measures 2 inches. Posting a picture in case it helps someone. For me it turned out what I needed was just a 2” PVP pipe that measures 2” inside and 2 3/8” outside.
