Absolutely Perfect!
This is a fantastic product. A wooden base, rubber underside for stability. Each stone (400/1000 & 3000/8000) has a rubber base to sit snuggly in the wooden base. Very stable. PLUS a large flattening stone (black one) & an angle guide! This product has Everything you could need to sharpen Anything!!! Highly Recommend!

Works great, priced right
I like the rubber bases in particular - keeps the edges from getting chipped.Watched a couple of you tube videos on sharpening and I have now sharpened every knife in the house, including my SS pocket knifes, which are notoriously hard to sharpen.Take your time and get the pressure and angle right for best results.Tried the blade angle tool, didn't like it - but it did let me see what the proper angle should look like.I can't stress enough that each block had a rubber base that prevents quite nicely, the edges from getting chipped.Nice wooden base.I would have paid extra for a wooden box to store it all - right now I am using the original box and foam.

A Very Good Set to Start Out On
I've used a Smith's tri-hine for years but always struggled trying to correct the edge geometry on my blades with those hard Arkansas stones. So, I decided to gamble and try these out. This set comes with everything you need and are pretty much ready to go after about 10 minutes of soaking. These stones have a very nice texture to them and it is much easier to get a feel for your edge alignment on them. They come with a nice bamboo mounting block and they are packaged in a way that you can just store them safely in the box they shipped in, which is a nice touch.Learning to sharpen blades on a whetstone is one of those skills that takes a while to learn. This kit comes with a ceramic guide that works fairly well for a chef's knife or larger blades. You'll still need to learn to sharpen freehand for pocket knives, paring knives, and chisels, though. At this price point I think these are a great product to get started with.Just remember to flatten your stones with the provided correction block or you'll start to dish your stones in the middle. Actually, that tool is another added value. A lot of stone sets leave it up to you to buy a flattening tool like a diamond plate yourself, separate from the kit. This kit gives you everything but the bucket of tap water you'll need to soak them in.

Great price, even greater customer service
I bought this whetstone set based on the customer reviews and price. When it arrived, the stones felt well-made and of high quality. I excitedly sharpened my knives and brought them to a pretty good state of sharpness. This was my first time sharpening anything on a whetstone and I watched dozens of instructional videos prior to sharpening my knives. This isn’t easy to use and you have to invest time to really learn to do it right. That said, I’m very satisfied with my purchase and can’t wait to get better at using this. The flattening stone it came with wasn’t very flat. This concerned me so I reached out to them about it. Lucy from customer service was very responsive and sent me a replacement right away. Plus she included a leather strop, which isn’t part of the set. I’d recommend buying from them based on how they treat their customers.

Works well!
A friend of mine passed away and I ended up with his workhorse knife. It was damaged when I got it, but still usable. Fast forward more than 5 years, and I finally decided to sharpen it. It came out great, and I'm excited to renew a few more knives.5 minutes per side on each of the 4 grit varieties worked great. If it's badly damaged you will probably want to spend more time. Youtube was great for getting the technique down, and you will get a feel for it quickly.First picture shows the unsharpened knife, the other two are after. I'm not sure what resolution they will end up, so suffice to say that the blade edge was visibly damaged, and it now has a perfect edge.

Good quality, would recommend
Pretty decent product for value. I've opened it to look at it but I haven't used it yet but a sharpening stone with a base is always helpful. My set showed up flawlessly from fit to finish. No defects or surface maring and the rubber inserts that go around the stones themselves fit snug and when inserted into the base with the rubber base was snug as well. As far as value for money, I'm sure you could find something cheaper but, the quality of this product seems spot on to me.

Great product, great value
These sharpening stones work great. I like the larger size as compared to ones I have seen in some stores. Lucy, the seller was very helpful and responsive. Their instructional videos are also very helpful. As is the angle guide that comes included

Nice stone set
I don’t have a ton of experience with whetstones, but I really like this set, I’ve used the stones for the knives I make as well as on most of my collection of knives and swords, as many of them were dulled. The stones took a little getting used to, as you have to be able to hold an even angle to make a nice edge, but when you get the hang of it, it works very well. Brought all my blades back up to snuff, many of them better than their original edges.
