A direct drop in fit, easy to install.
My stove is a GE and even though it's 20 years old, it's still a great product. New stoves are about $2,000.00 these days. The element in every stove is actually a consumable part and 20 years is a long time. So I was glad to simply purchase the new element and take about 30 minutes to install this new part. My stove is like new now. Works great, fits perfect, and I'm happy of the quality. Looks to be as durable as the element that lasted 20 years. Good stuff!

Range Element working propertly again
While our current element didnt show any signs of cracks, the uneven pizzas or cookies were giving us cause to consider a tech coming out. Instead, I took the option of replacing the 6 year old element first. Glad I did. $40 dollars is much cheaper than the Appliance tech bill, right?

Did the trick
The plate arrived a little bent, which is why the review is not 5-star. But for the price, that was a minor inconvenience. I did want to warn (or inform) about the installation. After watching several DIY videos online, we gathered the needed tool and prepared for the job. The plate screwed off easily enough, and we were able to gently pull the element and wires from back of the oven. However, when we got it out, we discovered that the element was not screwed to the wiring (as in the DIY videos), but looked to be welded into place. I thought I would have to get a repair specialist to replace it, but my husband discovered with a bit of wiggling that the old element slid out of the housing bracket, and the new one slid right in—no screws at all. It did take a bit of force to pry it out, but the alternative (a $120 service call) provided motivation enough to get the job done. I will echo again that the old element should be GENTLY pulled to expose the wires. And, as others here have warned, the wires do try to pull back into the access hole once disconnected from the old element. Our solution was to clip a wooden clothespin on each of the wires to keep them from pulling back in the hole while the new element was connected. Once in place, the element worked perfectly, a solution that saved at least $150 on repair or hundreds on a new stove. Good luck!
