Super R-Lipoic Acid 240 mg, 60 Vegetarian Capsules (Pack of 2)

I have used this for about 5 years to help balance my sugars. I have type 2 Diabetes and this really helps! I've been diabetic for 13 years and have no neuropathy which I believe is because of the R-Lipoic Acid. I take 3 capsules at night and will take it as long as I'm diabetic (which is forever, I guess). Thank you Life Extension for a great product!

11/29 - New Updated about LifeExtension Super r-ALA I came back for an additional 2 bottles and I plan to continue to buy for the long term. I keep coming back and buying this because it simply works. I have been taking r-ALA for years and so far, this is the best formula I have found. I have noticed some additional benefits of the product. I drink on the weekends usually on Saturday but I tend to over drink since I limit myself. This product has eliminated hangovers for me and that's something I didn't expect. After looking into it, I realized that alcohol causes the production of excess "reactive oxygen species," a type of "free radical." This can be toxic to our cells (especially the membranes) as well as mediate for unwanted inflammation. Super R Lipoic Acid will help neutralize this cascade of free radicals! 10/12 - Update about LifeExtension Super r-ALA So I have now taken a total of 3 months worth of this product and it has helped me a whole lot. My blood sugar levels are down by over 30%, my liver values have also went down in a very good way. While I have taken r-ALA for years, this specific product seems to work better on me than any others. Among the other things I use this product for, r-ALA helps move carbohydrates into muscle cells instead of your fat cells by increasing the uptake of glucose. This improvement in carb utilization means that carbs and sugars are less likely to be stored as fat and will be stored more efficiently as muscle glycogen, so if you are working out, this is something you should also look at. This time, I bought the 120 pack, which is two bottles of 60 tabs each.

This vitamin is amazing. It is for nerve and cell health. I have one foot that has numbness and burning. Some nights the pain is unbearable. Someone told me about this product. I take one in a.m. and one at bedtime. For the most part, the episodes of nightly pain has all but gone away. However, about every 6 months I will have a night and I just take an extra one during the onset.

As a diabetic, the Super R-lipoic Acid helps the red blood cells from becoming glycated. This helps keep the blood sugar readings low. The only complaint I have is the price, which is why I gave it a 4 star rating

I experience neuropathy as a result of chemotherapy. My fingers were largely numb with maybe 20% feeling remaining and my feet somewhat less affected but in an awkward manner so that it felt as though I were always standing on marbles. I quit drinking from regular glasses due to constant dropping and now drink exclusively from coffee cups with handles. Shirt buttons and shoe laces were almost impossible. Frustration was endless. Life improved as neuropathy subsided to a degree during the six months I have used this product. My hands are up to 80% feeling but there has been little improvement in my feet. Today I continue to wear pull-over shirts and slip-on shoes and drink from a coffee cup. The day is in sight, though, when I can return to a normal life. With that said, I cannot say with certainty that this product caused my improvement because many chemotherapy patients experience improvement over time without treatment. Evidence indicates that R-Lipoic Acid helps, and nothing indicates that it does harm, so there is nothing to lose in giving it a try. I am glad I did because it may be responsible for my improvement.

Because I have an autoimmune disease (Sjogren's) which caused neuropathy, my energy levels have suffered tremendously. They call it fatigue but it's more like the life force has been pulled out of me. This product along with a few other supplements gives it back to me. I notice a difference if I forget to take it so I know it works. Many don't know that we need R-ALA instead of ALA. It's more absorbable. Very pleased with the quality of this product. It's also less expensive than some on the market.

I started taking this after reading an article in a women's magazine that said it worked well for mental clarity & focus. I have taken it for three months now & I can absolutely tell a difference. I have not had any negative side effects so far & intend to continue to take it on a daily basis.

Life Extension Super R-a-Lipoic Acid: Size 120 x 300mg/ capsule = Is Really 60capsules x 240mg = LessThanThat! 1.-Size120means not 120 capsules but 60!-Each capsule has not 300mg of RaLA but 240mg,but capsule size is bigger-so we could 'enjoy' much more of cheap-filler-junk for twice the price!.(-for size60~60x210mg of RaLA-not 300mg but less filler) 2.-I always know did I take aLA today or not,- for every else brand,for ex.for Swanson's aLA.-It's very simple if you've any smell-sense at all with your nose.That's the specific smell of urine (of course give some time after.taking 1 capsule x 300mg of aLA with water before that liquid goes all the way through your organism's system out to toilet).But with this brand - nothing even I've two or even 3 capsules! That means: somebody's didn't put any significant amount of aLA in capsules! 3.-It could have some good placebo effect but not any more if you did read this review and take any attention to all facts.If you don't believe that you could buy several brands of aLA in capsules form and check my facts and smell yourself.(-Don't buy aLA in tablets form because their tablets do not dissolve at all in my human organism and they just go through as whole as they were).
