Great Jeep hood lock
Lock arrived on time and was well packed, I purchased the rivet gun at HF and proceeded to install. Install was easy and the rivets were really heavy duty. The key coding inside the lock was a breeze. Hopefully this will keep the hood locked down to deter theft.

Best Investment!!!!
Definitely one of the best investments you can make for your Jeep. Very well built & easy to install and for the price? Well worth it. This is my second one I have bought for one of my jeeps, I was very impressed with the first one had to get another. Keys to your jeep so no needed an extra key on your key ring. Only thing I suggest is to buy a rivet gun that can accommodate a 1/4” rivet that comes in the kit but other then that Great product

sleek and purposeful
Easy install if you remove the wheel well and front grill. The lock works well; I haven't had any problems with it since I bought it 3 years ago recommend, but not necessary

Easy to install and very secure!
First, this hood lock fits perfectly with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK & JKU, despite what Amazon's tells you. Some of the reviews talk about how easy it is to bypass this lock but I seriously tried and couldn't do it. Any lock can be bypassed eventually, but It's a deterrent and I'm not worried about someone bypassing this just to steal a battery or other engine components without taking some time. This lock is very well made and durable and installation was a breeze. The fact that it keyed to my ignition key was one of the primary selling points, as I don't want another key to add to my key ring. Installation: It took about 15 minutes to install. You do need a rivet tool that takes 1/4" rivets to install the lock. I bought one with this lock for an additional $20 that worked perfectly fine. The kit comes with 4 rivets and 6 plastic inserts to replace the ones on the front grill you most likely will need to replace one you remove the original ones. There are a few videos on you tube and from the manufacturer that will explain how to install it., but it's really easy. It's great that the key can not be removed when the key is turned to unlock, making sure you don't inadvertently forget to lock it. This should also fix issues with hood flutter at high speeds. The lock tightens the hood once engaged. This is definitely a better option than the hood latches that lock!

Pleased with product. Pleased with price.
I can cite numerous instances when one manufacturer makes products that get branded under different resellers names. I am very suspicious that this is an instance of that. I found the lock mounting hardware to be well made and sturdy. As for those complaining about buying a riveting tool, HARBOR FRIEGHT or pick up nuts and bolts. Though the product comes with pop rivets you don't have to use them! I have a Warn winch mounted in the bumper with a Maximus-3 mounting plate. As such I am not able to remove my grill without first removing the winch, a time consuming proposition. Consequently I did both methods to accomplish the install. I used the pop rivets to secure the mounting plate on the top (I like the look of this best, looks factory installed) and then since I can't move my grill far enough to access the mounting holes to rivet from the front I used nuts and bolts. Your hood will be just as secure using nuts and bolts as the rivets. It took a bit of fanaggling to to get a nuts on the bolts that go in from the front. You can't get an angle to get a wrench on the nut through the opening on top of the latch. (I used the nuts with nylon inserts and a washer on the bolt.) In order to get a wrench on the nuts inside the channel I had to tape electrical tape on the closed end of the wrench, push it down inside from the top, position the open end of wrench on nut and tighten the nut. Then get the wrench off the nut and use the electrical tape to get wrench repositioned for retrieval. Keying my ignition key worked as described. Love not having to have different keys. I had already purchased grill inserts so I am having to reorder the same model only with the opening to accommodate the lock. I cut my insert with a Dremel so I can access the lock for now. I did some searching for a grommet that would fit the opening and give it a finished look. I've given up and and reordering inserts with the lock opening. I agree with all those voicing opinion that a hood lock should be standard on Wranglers. There are too many valuable items under the hood even if you don't to any modifications starting with the battery and the hood itself (power hood on Hard Rock).

Good with 1 caveat
Most importantly, I love this lock. No 2nd key to lose and it hides in plain sight. The installation is super easy (with the correct rivit gun) and the unit is SOLID. The first one I was sent would not code and I ended up bending my key. Not sure if that one was a return because the sticker over the lock was barely holding on. The replacement lock sticker was WAY more difficult to remove. I would recommend the lock but if there is any resistance when coding, STOP and get a replacement!

Easy installation, perfect function
Installed in about 15 minutes, including the removal and re-installation of the front grille. The lock was set to my key very simply. Insert the key, turn it, and you’re done. You’ll need a tool to install rivets. It’s like $20 at the hardware store or, in my case, my buddy had one. I believe you’ll need a 1/4” adapter for it. This is one of the first things I would do to a Jeep Wrangler. Otherwise, anyone can open your hood at any time and take your battery or do who knows what to your engine. Very well made and will also solve any hood flutter at high speeds because it holds the hood down tighter. From what I’m seeing, Mopar licensed this product and they sell it more expensive. I decided to go straight to the inventor/manufacturer.

Perfetto il sistema di “clonazione” serratura . Veramente comodo. Speriamo sia sicuro perché fino ad adesso me li hanno rotti tutti quelli di altre marche . Anche quello originale jeep .

Great product. Easy to installed. It uses your jeep key, which is absolutely fantastic. Secure your hood well. Slick look, not too obvious when installed. Highly recommend it.
