Cable Matters Infrared Remote Extender Cable 3m (IR extender, Blaster), IR Repeater Cable

My Blu-ray player is in the room next door with the Denom AV in the media box. I was using my tv remote for my Blu-ray player but there were many instances where it wouldn’t work and I’ll need to head into the other room to use the Blu-ray remote. Nightmare. Found this as a solution and it works perfectly. Can also use it for my denom too as they are both in the same box. Very easy to install, wire is thin so easy to get through the wall to the Blu-ray player. Great value for money.

Works REALLY well. Only drawback, I need to plug into a wall charger. It doesn't pull much power, so a battery pack keeps turning off. I'm using to control a small Pattern light projector as a backdrop for musicians. ``the remote only has a short range ( and needed to be in front of it) this has sorted my dillema.

Perfect, hides my motorised satellite system box. 1000s of channels and all you can see is the TV and the soundbar. Works perfectly and great price.

Great product which works well …. but I could only get it to function consistently if I powered it from a mains power socket adapter. I tried powering from the usb connection on both my tv and sound bar but the repeater would only work intermittently.

I bought this IR extender cable so I could tuck my tv box and dvd players into a cabinet and still use the remote. It’s usb make the installation very simple and it’s been working reliably. Just installed it inside the cupboard and now everything’s out of sight but still under control. Cable length is good and is great value.

Finally a solution to a poor IR receiver on my Sony AVR. I tried several 3.5mm options to connect to the IR jack on the AVR - none worked. This isn't quite as neat (needs the transmitter stuck over the IR sensor on the front of the AVR). However - it works rally well. I can point the remote almost anywhere now and it works - previouslt need to point it exactly at the IR sensor. Great value - needs a necent USB power supply.

Our Blu-Ray player is located in a unit which is out of the line of sight of the infrared remote control when you're sitting watch a film. Consequently, any time you need to pause, rewind, eject etc a film, you have to stand, point the remote at the player, and keep stabbing buttons until the player responds (it never works first time). It's a frustrating experience and often spoils enjoyment of the film. To fix the problem, I'd initially tried to buy a new Blu-Ray player that has a wireless remote, rather than an IR remote - like all our other AV devices we have in the room - but it appears such a player does not exist, at any price. It seems the only remedy is an IR relay. The Cable Matters Infrared Remote Extender Cable was quickly installed and worked straight away. After a bit of experimentation (hint - tape the receiver and emitter in position with masking tape at first to find the most effective location, before using the attached adhesive to fix them permanently in position). The receiver is sensitive enough for you not to need a clear line of sight for it to respond, the devices are small enough that you barely notice them and it works first time, every time. Watching films at home is now a much more enjoyable experience. So, problem solved - and for a great deal less than the cost of a new Blu-Ray player.

Didn't work as per description. Says it works from 15ft.. More like 5ft

This just arrived and hooked up easily. My Denon receiver is behind a cabinet door and I often need to change the sound mode (from typical Dolby Surround) for TV sports sound or for Spotify music, which requires using the Denon receiver remote. (I can adjust receiver volume using the TV remote via the CEC / HDMI connection.) Opening the door to change the sound mode is a pain, and is visually undesirable. This gadget works so well, as I can now change the receiver sound mode with the Denon receiver remote. It works 30+ ft. away (may vary for different remotes?) and at a moderate aim angle as well. It took 5 minutes to set up, if that. I do anticipate that I may have to replace the 2-sided tape on the IR receiver and transmitter blobs. I got the "6 ft." model and found that the leads are longer than expected, so it was pretty flexible to connect the USB to a nearby power strip and then mount the IR receiver and transmitter blobs where needed. I just estimated where the Denon receiver IR eye was and mounted the IR transmitter blob inside the door, opposite that area, quite approximately. I'm not sure what the IR transmitter's broadcast angle might be. A blue LED blinks on the IR receiver when activated, so you know you have triggered a change. No instructions are included, other that the diagram you can see on the Amazon site.

Just plug it in, position the receiver and sender, and you're all set. works like a charm
