Save this seller!!
Save this seller! I just received this hornwort and a few other varieties I ordered. The plants were a bit stressed, as expected coming in the mail, but still live and healthy. Within a few hours of putting them in water and they started coming around. The one suggestion I have is it would help for the seller to include a sheet with care instructions, tips, etc. depending on the species. However, figuring out how to care for each particular plant isn't terribly difficult. Overall, very, VERY satisfied with this order and this seller in terms of price, value, and quality and will definitely add to my favorites for future needs!

Thought it would grow, it mostly didn't
Hornwort update: I trimmed the very tops of the stems and floated them for a week or two and now I have maybe 3 or 4 living stems that are still tiny but growing. The whole rest of the plant is dead, shed all the needles into the tank and is melting and making a mess. Other plants seem to be doing okay so far. ------- Right up top, I think 4 stars for live plants on Amazon is a good expectation. I purchased 3 different plants in one order from this seller, so I'm going to copy the same review to each item. I'll try to update as things grow in. I ordered Hornwort, Java Moss, and Crypt Parva for a new mini shrimp jar. I placed my order on a Saturday evening and I did choose to pay for faster shipping to ensure they had the best chance. To my surprise, the order was filled and shipped Sunday morning. I just received them Wednesday morning and planted everything. It was in a box with a bubblewrap bag with the plants inside. Everything was intact. I received a tissue culture of something for free with my order, not sure what it is yet. Looks green and healthy, we'll see - I sometimes have bad luck with tissues. The hornwort I'm giving 4 stars. It feels strong, but bristly and it's browner than I would hope. Kind of a messy bundle, but it's okay for me because I chopped it into pretty short stems anyways. I expect the color to improve over time, maybe with some trimming and replanting. The java moss also gets 4 stars. It's java moss. Maybe the clump of moss seemed a little small... but again this was a situation where I really didn't need very much, so it worked out. It looks and feels healthy, and it will grow. The crypt parva gets 5 stars. Looked just as good, if not better, than a plant in a bag would look if I drove to my LFS and bought one. Big and healthy and easy to split into smaller pieces. I was worried the crown might be mushy but it's awesome. Overall, my experience is better than I expected. I'll try to update in a few weeks once things settle in, but based on how they look and feel, it would likely be my fault if they died.

The jury is still out (updated)
Plants came in a bundle. Package had sealed in moisture, but most of the plant was brown and losing bristles. Package came USPS so not sure how long it was in not ideal temperatures. Enough was still green that I think I can still use it. Hoping it comes back strong. (Updated after a month of growing) My little green branch has grown a bunch and is ready for trimming! The pregnant fish like to hide in it and the others enjoy looking for leftover food. I even added some to my goldfish tank and it seems to be doing well.

Healthy and doing great
I received a single plant - all the stems were from the same node. It took quite a while for the packet to arrive, so I expected to see a lot of melting. But that didn't happen. The melting was minimal. After washed, it looked so beautiful right away (see the 2nd photo). I put the entire bunch in a plastic lunch container, filled it with half tap water and half tank water, then closed it with a transparent lid and placed it under a LED light. The Hornwort did not melt in the container. After the initial couple of days, I could hardly find more than a few newly fallen leaves (needles) when doing water change. A few days later I moved the whole thing to where it belongs. Since then, only about two weeks have passed. But I have cut its stems at least a couple of times. With strong light at the minimum of 10 hours a day, I hope it will grow fast.

not good for home aquariums.
not the best plant for a home aquarium, starts shedding as soon as it's touched, clogs up the filter and looks generaly horrible at first,I have no idea what it would be like if left alone afterwards,it was too much of a mess so I pulled it out and threw it away.

pest snail surprise
When i got these in they were in great shape - green and beautiful i think it was a week or two before i notice that i had some unexpected pets - all of a sudden i had thousands of snails I'm still trapping snails out of 10 gal betta tank even now while i was pleased with the product I am not happy about the snails and in order to get rid of them I've had to get rid of the hornwort which my Bettas loved - my tank looks very bare now sadly i will have to transfer to another tank and replant it because the snails have almost destroyed all of the planted plants that were in my tank

Hornwort plant arrived in poor condition
To be honest, the price of this plant is not bad. However, I was quite surprised when I received the plant. It was in a small, sealed yellow bag. When I opened it, the two cuttings were completely yellow and wilted. I felt that they were completely dead. I contacted the seller and he asked me to put the cuttings in a white container with clean water and take a picture of them for him. After he saw the picture, he said that they could be saved and told me to put them in the aquarium. However, after a few days of putting them in the aquarium, the cuttings have broken off into pieces and the leaves have scattered all over the aquarium. It took me a long time to clean up the entire aquarium. My aquarium is a 20-gallon freshwater aquarium. It is equipped with an air pump, filter, lighting, and heater. The lighting is on for 8 hours a day and the heater is set to 83 degrees Fahrenheit.
