Jonathan Alden Co Magnetic Knife Bar keeps knives easily within reach while freeing up valuable counter space. The highest quality triple coated magnets are evenly spread across the bar balancing the magnetic pull strength with the weight of each knife providing a soft touch and release for everything between a paring knife to the heaviest clever.

Magnetic knife bars are the bomb. This one is even bomber
Magnetic knife bars are GREAT. They hold knives with a strong, satisfying ker-thwack, and keep them handy for immediate grabbing. They're infinitely better than a drawer and even better than a knife block (they use less counter space, and you don't have to hunt for a slot for the knife, just THWACK it back on there). This particular knife bar works fabulously and is also gorgeous. The magnet pattern inlaid in the wood makes for a unique and eye catching design, and incidentally exposes the magnets near the surface for prime gripping strength (while keeping them just subsurface so knives don't actually scrape on the metal). The wood is beautifully finished and the whole thing is put together super nicely.

Beautiful Product
I love this product. I purchased the 20" beautiful walnut holder. The magnet is very strong, and it holds all my knives in addition to scissors and whisks, giving me more counter space. It is well made, handcrafted in the USA, and it complements our wood decor very well. I would highly recommend this product.

Great Quality!
We were really impressed by the quality of this item! Love how it looks, and the magnet is very strong. Happy to have a safe place to story our nice knives.

excellent workmanship; badly needs a better mounting solution than the current caveman design
This is a beautifully designed and executed rack with next to no thought given to how to mount it.Here are just a couple problems with the current mounting scheme:1. the buyer must iteratively adjust the mounting screws until the distance of the head from the wall is just right to get the rack to be somewhat flush with the wall and not rock excessively; it's not very confidence inspiring2. assuming it does get mounted as intended, its elegant thin-ness will cause some knife handles to rub against the wall; and if a handle is particularly thick, the knife blade won't be able to lay flat on the rack's surface.I ended up printing my own end supports which solidly suspend the rack several millimeters away from the wall.

Great Product
Easy installation; firm grip on our knives. The 24" model allows us to hang 15 knives rather than have most in a drawer, which is not ideal storage for keeping knives sharp.

Very Nice Knife Board - Good Wood and Super Strong Magnets
I made this purchase because of a poor Mag Blok customer service experience. No regrets buying this. Some folks will not like the persistent and powerful strength of the magnets on this board, but I love it.

Good looking and functional!
I bought a 12" knife rack in cherry. It's very well made; the wood appears to be solid cherry. It's definitely not some cheap white wood with a cherry stain. I like, too, that the magnets are slightly recessed. Magnets are extremely hard metal, much harder than knife blades, so this keeps the edges from getting dinged. Holding power is very adequate. Right now I have a 10" Dexter scalloped bread knife, a 12" Dexter carving aka slicing knife, a 10" Dexter butcher knife plus a couple of other knives hanging. All are held tightly but it is easy to remove them by simply rotating the handle so the sharp edge rises towards me and I lift the back edge off the rack. The sharp edge never touches anything; only the side of the knife touches. With the supplied wall anchors the rack rocks slightly. I suggest adding some thin pads on the back near the corners to match the tiny height that the anchors stick out from the wall.

Really holds knives
The magnets are strong and recessed so the metal doesn't touch or scratch expensive knives. I had bought another brand, Epicurean, which did not hold my knives ... by morning my knives always slid to the countertop. This magnet knife holder really does hold knives without any slippage. My only problem was the installation. I didn't want to drill into my tile backsplash for the provided mounting screws. I tried 3M 30lb dual-sided tape but the tape would not stick to the wood with the finish on nor with the backside finish sanded off. Seriously don't waste your time with tape. Finally, I got E6000 glue which did the trick. You'll have to prop the knife holder up for 24 hours (with a stack of books in my case). Anyway, I am very happy with the looks and functionality.
