Great fit and roomy.
Works and fits better than expected. I have broken toes and this design and velcro closure keeps my foot secure. The stiff sole prevents and bending as it should. Wear with or without socks. The level of comfort is pretty good, all things considered. Great investement and less bulky than the medical boot the doctors will provide you. Those are great but not necessarly needed for toe fractures.

UPDATE: Get this one!!!!! It's great!
UPDATE: Love it! Get this one!!! I have tried several other brands and had to return them. Some cheaper, some similar price. Had big problems with every one of them and this one if just about perfect! Don't fuss around with others like I did. This one is well made, quality, comfortable as it can be under the circumstances, and does the job. Wish I had gotten this one first. It is a bit wide. I am split between a regular and wide size so perhaps this is wider than usual. But I'm not in bandages anymore. If one is still wearing bandages the width would be good. When I do the top strap the part that says "Vive" the edge hits the ground a little. I don't care because it works and I'm not wearing it as a fashion statement. Don't shop around. It is just not worth the trouble and agony. Get this one!!! It's better than the first one the surgeon put on. did read sizing directions carefully and it is just too big. Really disappointing because it looks like a good boot. So I am returning this one and ordering a size smaller. I did not actually try on the one I got because I think that may void return policy. But I matched it up to the boot I am currently wearing (It's worn out) and this one is much bigger. Of note they are supposed to protrude enough to protect the toe. You don't want it to end at your toes like a normal shoe. Still too big, but the quality looked good enough that I am trying again. My 4 stars is based one perceived quality based on visual inspection. Will update my review after I receive replacement.

Well Constructed
Bought for broken toe and possible broken metatarsal. Square toe offers side protection (photo #1) but be conscious of making a wide berth around objects. Velcro on ankle strap and toe coverage flap stays secure. Never loosens on its own. Both are very functional no matter which foot the shoe is worn on. Strap length is quite long and can be cut shorter. Sole is unbendable, but is NOT a rocker sole as stated in description. It is flat as seen in my side view photo #2. The flat sole still allows your toes to flex to some degree, so I must always be aware of not allowing my broken bone(s) to bend as I walk. There is no arch support on the inside - it's just a flat sole. This is understandable as the shoe can be for either foot. I tried to capture this in photo #3. I must wear an orthotic to support my high arch and shoe easily accomodates it. I wear a ladies 9 1/2 so I bought size Small for women according to seller's chart that fits up to size 10. The shoe length is perfect. My foot is narrow and this surgical shoe will accomodate any foot width. Shoe would be a 5 star winner if it had a rocker sole. That makes a HUGE difference in stabilizing broken bones AND providing pain relief when walking. I do have a more expensive boot that has a rocker sole. But its klunky, goes halfway up my calf, and much too warm to wear in hot summer weather. So I opted for this Vive lightweight post-op shoe. I am very satisfied with its high quality and sturdy construction at a very affordable price. It's better than wearing a shoe which offers no protection or stabilization for broken toes. If I ever break another toe in the summer I would wear this post-op shoe again. But my larger boot with a true rocker sole offers better relief for broken bones in foot/toes.

Nice and Easy
This was a shoe I did not want to buy, but I’m so glad I did. It is very comfortable and easy to put on. It forms to your foot and the straps are easy to move around to your liking. I am still able to work. My foot is healing with the help of this shoe.,

Great for Support and Protection
After dislocating and breaking a couple toes and consequently being unable to walk without serious pain, I purchased this Vive walking shoe after a recommendation. I didn't hold much hope for it helping, but I was willing to try anything that would allow me to walk upstairs to my bathroom or go to the grocery store with less pain. Seriously, I had tears running down my face from pain when I went to the store before ordering this shoe, and it's not like I was wearing heels or some other ill-thought footwear when I went to pick up milk and fruit! I couldn't stand long enough to cook, really, or even get my mail from the mailbox during this time. Desperate for food a few days after breaking my toes I ordered a pizza. The kind delivery woman could see that I could barely stand to take the box and asked if I was okay, and I told her about my foot. She said "you should be wearing a boot!" I thanked her for the advice, and got on Amazon.com immediately after eating a few slices. Lots of boots to choose from on Amazon, in a wide array of price ranges. Since I had only broken a few toes, I decided a full boot was probably not necessary and narrowed it down to this Vive shoe and another, both of which had good reviews, and decided on the Vive. I purchased the Medium size which states in the description that it fits a US Women's shoe size of 8.5 to 10 I generally wear a US Women's size 8 or 8 1/2 depending on the shoe. As you can see from my uploaded image, the medium fits me just right with about 1/2 inches of room to spare for toe protection while wearing a pair of cushioned but not very thick socks. I recommend that if you wear a US Woman's size above 8 1/2 that you order a large. It may be a little big but you want to protect your toes - you wouldn't believe how many times I've inadvertently bumped my foot into things while going about my business, and this walking shoe saved me from both serious pain and perhaps further damaging my toes. I've only had this walking shoe for about 10 days and have worn it constantly when not sleeping or showering, and I'd wear it in the shower too if I had purchased two so that one would always be dry. It's pretty difficult to shower properly when one foot is basically unusable making one's balance unsteady! Since I had only ordered one shoe, I've been wearing a crocs on my other foot for balance although any shoe with a height of about 1 inch would work, or maybe even an athletic shoe. For me, my fuzz lined crocs shoe works because I can easily walk in them with socks and the height is right while also providing a similar sole feel as the Vive walking shoe. I haven't had any problems with the sole cracking as some reviews have stated, but I'm not really putting the shoe or my foot through the ringer. As I stated, it's been about 10 days of wearing it in the house, out for errands, walking the dog, and while working out daily. I'm super happy with this purchase, and if by some chance it does break before I'm healed I would just order another one at this price point. As some have noted, the straps are quite long. After wearing it for a while, I found a comfortable tightness and cut the straps accordingly. The two lower straps, the one over the toes and the one over the arch, have a piece of velcro that can be removed and replaced where needed. If I had one complaint it would be that the top strap closest to the ankle does not have this removable velcro. I've just been kind of tucking the excess under so that it doesn't snag on things. Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase. Great product!
