I'm a big fan of Wikipedia, and I support them with annual donations, so I naturally like the idea of having a volume like this. The articles are well done, accurate, and very detailed. For the amateur Civil War fan, this is a useful book. Bear in mind that all of this information can be obtained elsewhere, and most used bookstores carry hundreds of beautiful history books that are dirt cheap. What I like most is that I can pick this book up, open it to any page, and learn something new.

If you love history it provides interesting information on many lesser known Civil War men and women.

Some articles tend to repeat themselves and ramble on. But it does include some new facts I didn’t know. It was a fun read.

I thought I knew a lot of Civil War history. This book expanded my knowledge with so much more history than I thought possible. Get
