Yum
I love this product. I don’t know how it went from $8 dollars a bag to $25 a bag. If it comes back down, I’ll buy it again. It’s great! Thank you!

Good Culinary Grade Matcha
This is a good culinary grade matcha, mild and not bitter. However, it is not a sweet, vibrant green matcha. I've been making a green tea latte most mornings for a few years and have tried a variety of brands. When I take out this package and see the picture of vibrant green matcha on the package and then look inside to a more straw colored matcha, I wish for the sweeter more vibrant ceremonial grade. I gave this product three stars because the package is misleading. I splurged and ordered a ceremonial grade matcha from a different vendor for my next purchase.

Caffeine high kicked my ass
If there is zero star, I will choose to rate this product with zero. Yes, you heard me, this is a no-brainer zero product. Hold on before your start to shout at me and tell me how unfair and tough I am with this pathetic product. Let me tell you why this worth less than one star. The first and maybe the only reason (forgive my reluctance to list more than one reason, since it will be completely waste of time) is, this is not high-quality matcha (抹茶). It is OK to put some low quality green tea leafs with its stem on into ball miller and grind it really fine and then ship it to Starbucks shops and let them to destroy their reputation and help poor US citizens to maintain their limited knowledge about what a really fine tea should taste like (since basically they deserve it when they keep themselves blind and go to mass-produced and eco-unfriendly commercial coffee shops) . However, if you claim something to be "Matcha", there are several basic standard you have to keep. In Japan, to grow and produce matcha is a very expensive business and it takes a lot of effort. First of all, it should be special species of tea trees. Second, it should be grow for much longer than usual tea treas and be covered with shadow for the very end period of its growth. Third, it should be grind with stone mill, yeah, you heard me, stone mill. And all stem will be picked up and throw away before processed by the stone mill. The reason to use stone mill is this is the only device which will make the powder so finer than 2000 mu. That's why authentic matcha doesn't taste bitter and won't give you a caffeine high. Meanwhile, it will have a special seaweed flavor. That's why I feel so angry about this product. I use it as ordinary matcha and the caffeine high just kicked in and almost punch me to the floor. And it taste as bitter as coffee. So, I guess in the end, it's me who should be blamed. I shouldn't expect this to be real matcha with so low price. I guess if you want to have real matcha experience on amazon: 1) buy product with Japanese package 2) no cheaper than 38 dollars. That's the best suggestion I can give, with my belief of what real matcha is and this bad-attitude-towards-US-costumer product. Yes, we American might not be experts about matcha, but we are willing to learn and embrace the difference and novice goods. But that's not a reason to be treated as moron.
